A rare live performance featuring guest appearances by The Free Spirits, led by John McLaughlin, on the stage of Joe Zawinul's Syndicate!!! Paco Celli and Dennis Chambers' drum battle will blow your mind!!! The masterpiece "My People", released in 1996 under Zawinul's name, not Syndicate, is said to be the culmination of Zawinul's music. It is a groundbreaking masterpiece that realizes the world music orientation that became prominent in the final period of Weather Report, and was nominated for a Grammy Award in the "World Music" category. In 1995, while they were working on this masterpiece, the strongest lineup of the Zawinul Syndicate, including bassist Matthew Garrison and drummer Paco Seri, who also made a great contribution to the album, and the Free Spirits led by John McLaughlin, participated as guests. This was one of the largest annual jazz festivals in Europe and a famous summer tradition, the North Sea Jazz Festival, held in The Hague, Netherlands on July 16th. This recording was made on a recently unearthed, high-quality stereo soundboard. This is one of the best items we have in stock! This is a recording of one of the Zawinul Syndicate's greatest performances at the North Sea Jazz Festival, held on July 16th in The Hague, Netherlands, which is one of the largest annual jazz festivals in Europe and a famous summer tradition. This is a recording of a very rare live performance in Aarhus, Denmark in 1989, the year after the release of Zawinul Syndicate's debut album, The Immigrants, in which Bill Summers, known for Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, participated on percussion. This is also a very rare live performance recorded on a recently unearthed, high-quality stereo soundboard. This is the best item we have in stock! !
