YES dyed the autumn of 2016 with the finest symphonic rock. Now, a live album that will cherish those memories and leave them forever is here. This tour had six shows in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, but this album contains the second day. This is the audience album for the "Orchard Hall performance on November 22, 2016". Speaking of their latest Japan tour, those who have actually been there will be wondering first and foremost whether it was the concert they saw. All of the Tokyo shows are at Orchard Hall, so be sure to check the schedule.・November 21: Orchard Hall "TOKYO 2016 1ST NIGHT" ・November 22: Orchard Hall [This work] 《1 day travel & off》 ・November 24: Osaka Orix Theater "OSAKA 2016" ・November 25: Zepp Nagoya "NAGOYA 2016" 《2 days travel & off》 ・November 28: Orchard Hall ・November 29: Orchard Hall In this way, this tour consisted of Tokyo 2 times → Osaka + Nagoya → Tokyo 2 times. This work is a masterpiece of truly wonderful audience sound. This show was also reported as part of "TOKYO 2016 1ST & 2ND NIGHT", but this work was recorded separately by a different recorder. As you can guess from the fact that it is pressed, the sound is even more wonderful. In fact, this YES has been provided with recordings from various recorders, and every show is a fierce battleground with many famous recordings. Many masters compete against each other in the recording battle, and each performance is close. In fact, this week, the press CDs of the first four performances of the tour will be released all at once, but these are all works by different recorders. For example, this week's release of the 2CD "TOKYO 2016 1ST NIGHT". This is a high-quality sound that can be called "Tokyo Best", but the recorder also recorded on the second day. Normally, it would be a full 4-disc set, but here a superb recording of a different taper broke in and snatched the seat of "best of the second day". Although it was difficult to throw away the sense of unity of the same recorder in terms of collection, I wanted to keep the peak of each day... This work was selected in this way. The sound is wonderful, easily surpassing the Amity 4CDR "TOKYO 2016 1ST & 2ND NIGHT" which was a quick report. The clarity of the air is incomparable, each instrument is beautifully separated and the details are super clear. The bass is rich, and the mid-high tones are dazzling. It is a beautiful album where sparkling YES music pours into the space of Orchard Hall. Since we are releasing four days of the same show at once, we decided to make the first day's 2CD "TOKYO 2016 1ST NIGHT" the "Tokyo Best" in order to convey the individuality, but it is only a very slight difference. "The first day's sound is just a little richer..." "But the second day's sound is also beautiful..." I was indecisive. These are two superb works, and the difference is only a small difference compared to the difference in the performance and the atmosphere on the day. And the performance is also wonderful. This is the first time "YES without Chris" has come to Japan. At first, there was only anxiety, but when the lid was opened, it was highly praised, with even voices saying "It's the best in the last 10 years". The biggest reason for this is the members. The rhythm section, consisting of Billy Sherwood, who replaced Chris, and Jay Schellen, who joined as a pinch hitter for Alan White, was unexpectedly wonderful. Billy is a former member, so he knows every detail of the songs and ensembles, and it's as if Chris has taken over his voice. It's not just a copy, but he adds a unique nuance to the song as a spice. He's also a good singer, and the chorus that intertwines with John Davison, who becomes more and more "Anderson-ized" every time he comes to Japan, is YES itself. The other Jay is also a talented musician with a history of working with former members of HURRICANE, BADFINGER, ASIA, GPS, etc., and his rhythm work is solid and tight. To be honest, I was worried about YES as the members of their golden age disappeared one by one, but the band was so sharp and yet not out of place that I even forgot about my confusion. Supported by the ironclad rhythm section, the great Steve Howe is shining with his rainbow tones as stably as ever. It will show us the ultimate in complex and beautiful symphonic rock. With the incorporation of new blood, YES music has been revived even more vividly. In 2016, "ARW" by Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman and Trevor Rabin started their activities and are playing fresh YES songs, but the original YES is also moving forward in a progressive direction. Coincidentally, ARW will also be coming to Japan in April next year, and the Tokyo venue will also be "Orchard Hall". There will probably be beautiful recordings at the upcoming ARW, and we will be looking forward to the day when we can enjoy "Two YES" with the superb sound of the same venue.
