YES's latest performance in Japan ended amid great acclaim just the other day. The best sound recording of the kickoff performance is here. Their last visit to Japan was in November 2014, exactly two years ago. It was also the last concert for the late Chris Squire. The next tour was already decided while Chris was alive, and they decided to continue their activities in accordance with his wishes. As part of that, they came back to Japan. This is a good opportunity to look back on their journey over the past two years. ●November 2014: Japan (6 shows) {June 28, 2015: Chris suddenly passed away} {July 2015: Announcement of continuation of activities} ●August-November 2015: North America #1 (33 shows) - 6 months later - ●April-June 2016: Europe (25 shows) {July 2015: Alan leaves for surgery} ●July-September 2016: North America #2 (28 shows) ●November 2016: Japan (6 shows) These are the events of the past two years. They restarted with former member Billy Sherwood as Chris's replacement, but this year Alan White got injured. He complained of pain in his intervertebral disc and left the tour for surgery. They continued the tour with Jay Schellen (formerly of HURRICANE, BADFINGER, ASIA, GPS, etc.), a talented member of Billy's network, as a substitute. Initially, Alan was scheduled to return in the middle of "North America #2", but in the end, it was prolonged and he returned from this performance in Japan. Moreover, Jay remained the main performer, and Alan only appeared at the end of the show, which was an unusual development. This work is an audience album that contains the first day of the Japanese performance, "November 21, 2016 Orchard Hall Performance". Many people may have visited Orchard Hall, but this time there were four performances at this venue. Some people may be wondering if it was a show that they actually experienced, so let's check the schedule.・November 21: Orchard Hall [This work] ・November 22: Orchard Hall "TOKYO 2016 2ND NIGHT" ・November 24: Osaka Orix Theater "OSAKA 2016" ・November 25: Zepp Nagoya "NAGOYA 2016" ・November 28: Orchard Hall ・November 29: Orchard Hall This work, which contains the first day, is a truly wonderful and superb recording. This show was also reported as part of "TOKYO 2016 1ST & 2ND NIGHT", but this work is a different recording by a different recorder. The sound is also wonderful. No, the recording recorded on the Amity 4CDR of the flash report was also wonderful without complaint, but the musical tone of this work is even more vivid. Compared to "Amity 374", the edge is sharper, and the sound shines brightly in the transparent transparency. The sound is exactly the peak recording of the first day... no, it is worthy of being called "Tokyo's strongest". This time YES is an unusual "recording battleground", and there are many famous recordings at all performances. Among them, this work is a "Tokyo best" recording that stands out one step (although I can't say for sure because the recording of the final performance has not yet been released). The YES show depicted with that sound is also amazing! There are four titles at once this week, so I will avoid repeating them, but the biggest listening point of this work is undoubtedly "Ritual". As mentioned earlier, this day is the first night of Alan's return. Jay Schellen is sitting on the stool for most of the show, but Alan appears in the percussion part in the middle of "Ritual". I was worried that "Following Chris, even Alan...", but I was able to witness the moment he returned to the stage. Moreover, this is not just a Japanese sentiment. In recent years, the theme has been album reproduction, but it was from "North America #2" that the partial reproduction of "Tales of Topographical Oceans" began. Since all performances in North America were performed by Jay, the originator Alan played that percussion part from this day on. That scene was also very moving. The audience who had been quietly listening to the magnificent large song were also happy and moved to tears at this time. Even in this work, a murmur and cheers rose up, and the Orchard Hall was filled with emotion. Even after the changeover, Alan finished the large song brilliantly while Jay was waiting by his side in case of an emergency. After the performance, the whole venue praised Alan's name and was given a huge cheer and cheers of joy. Such a scene is depicted with super clear sound. YES returned to Japan, which was "Chris' last stage". On the first day, the dramatic moment of Alan's return was also captured in Tokyo's strongest sound, making this a masterpiece of a live album. Not only was it a wonderful performance and beautiful music, but it was also a joyous moment engulfed in the audience's excitement.
