YES is about to perform in Japan this November. Introducing a live album that will make your heart beat even hotter. This work is an audience album of the “July 31, 2016 Bethlehem performance” at the beginning of “USA 2016 TOUR”. If you're thinking, "Huh? July?", you're in the right place. In fact, from this tour we have already introduced “WALLINGFORD 2016” on August 5th and “ALBANY 2016” on August 14th. Here you can feel the distance from the closest "WALLINGFORD 2016". ・July 25th Lancaster performance (first day of tour) ・July 27th Columbus performance ・July 28th Northfield performance ・July 30th Atlantic City performance ・July 31st Bethlehem performance [this work] ・August 2nd Lewiston performance ・Lynn performance on August 4th ・Wallingford performance on August 5th "WALLINGFORD 2016" This is "USA 2016" TOUR” first 8 performances. In this way, this work is not the latest live performance, but a concert before the 3 performances of "WALLINGFORD 2016". It is a live album that will be the 5th performance of “USA 2016 TOUR”. However, even if this work is not the latest live, the one that appeared is the latest. Actually, this tour is not blessed with sound sources. Countless recordings have appeared since “WALLINGFORD 2016” and “ALBANY 2016”, but the essential quality is not good enough. Normally, I would like to go on tour with YES, but since we first introduced the best sound of ``WALLINGFORD 2016'' and ``ALBANY 2016'', we can't bring you a half-baked sound now. I don't want to go...I continue to have such frustrating days. But it seems we weren't the only ones who felt that way. Perhaps they were frustrated by the lackluster recording situation, or perhaps they wanted to put some energy into it, but even though it had been a while since their live performance, a masterpiece with the finest sound appeared. That is what this work is. In fact, the sound of this work is superb. The extremely thick bass, delicate midrange, and sparkling highs are all detailed and clear. In particular, even the bass, which tends to be Audien's biggest challenge, is wonderful, and the nuances of each harsh note are so clear that you can even feel the tremors of the floor. It's vivid enough to be called "just like a soundboard," but it also has the feeling of "falling from the sky," which is the biggest flavor for YES's audience, and the guitar's "sound" is so rich that it's heart-wrenching. Although the nuances of the sound are different, the quality dimension is completely on the same level as “WALLINGFORD 2016” and “ALBANY 2016”. It is truly a masterpiece worthy of being called "Big 3 of USA 2016 TOUR". The show drawn with that quality is also wonderful. What I'm most curious about is "Story of Marine Topography," which will be the highlight of the Japanese performance. The structure of the show is “2-part + encore” like “WALLINGFORD 2016” and “ALBANY 2016”. The first part is "'Drama' Reenactment + 'I've Seen All Good People' + 'Siberian Khatru'" and the second part is ''And You and I' + 'Ocean Topography' Part.' ``Ocean Topography'' is not a complete reproduction of the album, but the two major songs ``Divine Revelation'' and ``Ritual'' are lined up with the ``Leaves of Green'' part of ``Ancient Civilization'' in between, making it feel like a large suite. What if ``Story of Marine Topography'' was a single album instead of a two-disc set... It is a show that even such an image comes to mind. Another thing I'm curious about is Jay Schellen, who is sitting on a stool in place of Alan White, who is out of the tour due to surgery. He is a talented performer with a background that includes former HURRICANE, BADFINGER, ASIA, GPS, etc., and even in his 5th performance, you can already hear his sharp drumming. Coupled with Billy Sherwood's bass, the craftsman-like beats are just as satisfying, and they handle even complex album reproductions with ease. I'm curious if Alan will return before the Japan performance, but even if it's Jay, his drumming is perfect. Currently, the “USA 2016 TOUR” has ended with the San Diego performance on September 4th, and the next performance location is Japan. There is a possibility that a masterpiece recording will appear late like this work, but this work will probably be the “last masterpiece before the Japanese performance”. Despite losing Chris Squire, YES chose to keep going. There's only a little more left until I meet them face to face. Please choose this masterpiece to accompany these restless days.
