The "DRAMA Tour" is a unique moment in YES history, unlike any other, yet also a hidden gem of a record. This video work allows you to witness that precious moment. This work features the "October 17, 1980 Philadelphia performance." This video compilation centers around the extremely rare 8mm film, and also brings together precious professional shots from the same period. The "DRAMA Tour" has been archived in numerous masterpieces, including the classic album "LOS ANGELES 1980 1ST NIGHT." First, let's organize the collection and unravel the overview of their activities at the time. "Drama" released on August 18th. North American leg: August 29th - September 8th (8 shows) * September 9th "DRAMATIC PLAY (Boston)" September 10th - October 2nd (19 shows) * October 3rd "LOS ANGELES 1980 1ST NIGHT" October 4th - 16th (9 shows) * October 17th: Philadelphia show ←★This work★ October 18th - 20th (3 shows) UK leg: November 16th - December 17th (23 shows) * December 18th "RAINBOW THEATRE 1980 2ND NIGHT" [Inactive] Main: Color 8mm film from the Philadelphia show This is the overall picture of the "Drama" era. We've reported on masterpieces and masterpieces up until now, but they've all been audio-only live albums. This time, it's a visual work that you can experience with your own eyes. Its true identity is a recently unearthed color 8mm film. At the time, home video cameras were not yet widespread, and 8mm was the norm for concert footage other than professional shots. While 8mm footage from that time has been increasingly unearthed in recent years, its style differs from modern live footage in that it compiles footage in chunks lasting anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, synchronizing the audio from the day. This work is no exception, clocking in at approximately 16 minutes in total. Yet, those 16 minutes are a gem. Unlike video, the screen, free of dubbing marks, is pristine down to the last detail, bringing the scene to life vividly. And the view is incredible. YES's selling point at the time was their rotating stage, but this film lets you watch it rotate almost without changing position. Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Trevor Horn... one by one, the band members approach and then depart. The enthusiasts who digitized the footage added a little ingenuity. As each member comes to the front, the footage switches to a slightly enlarged, dazzling image for a few seconds. The film adds a multi-camera feel to the otherwise unassuming footage. The timing of the shots is also excellent. The album includes the key tracks from "Drama," "Into the Lens (I Am A Camera)," "Tempus Fugit," and "Machine Messiah," as well as "Parallels" from "Ultimate." In other words, rather than randomly capturing various parts of the show with limited film, the film focuses on the key songs and captures them in a focused manner. This allows for a longer, if not more complete, experience of each song. Bonus: Three representative pro shots from the era. While the 8mm footage is incredibly exciting, 16 minutes is still not enough. Therefore, this release includes additional pro shots that provide a richer experience of the "Drama" era. These include the music videos for "Tempus Fugit" and "Into the Lens," and the Italian music program "Discoring." While the two music videos are familiar, "Discoring" is quite rare. Filmed on September 19, 1980, it features the band members strolling around the waiting area and on a plane (presumably traveling from Pittsburgh to Detroit). While these might be ordinary behind-the-scenes shots, the uniqueness of the members themselves makes it a different story. Even audience recordings of the "DRAMA Tour" are a rare historical milestone. This film allows you to experience the experience firsthand. Until now, this film has only offered a glimpse into the "other side" of the experience, something we could only imagine while listening to live albums. This is a color 8mm film of the "October 17, 1980 Philadelphia concert." Unlike video, the screen is free of dubbing marks, providing a vivid, vivid portrayal of the band's time. The sight of the five members of the "DRAMA" era rotating one by one on a rotating stage is historic, and the editing, which inserts enlarged footage at key moments, is fascinating. This DVD compiles rare footage from the "Drama" era, including bonus footage of the music videos for "Tempus Fugit" and "Into The Lens" and the music program "Discoring."
