In 1997, YES became the strongest six-piece band of the 90s with the addition of Igor Koloshev. A masterpiece video that allows you to experience the spectacular view of the scene has been decided to be released. This work was filmed at the New Brunswick performance on October 19, 1997. This is the audience shot. YES released the song ``OPEN YOUR EYES'' in which Igor also participated, and began touring as a six-piece group for the first time in history. In addition to the album tour, we also held a 30th anniversary tour in quick succession. First of all, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule at that time. 1997 “OPEN YOUR EYES TOUR” October 17th - December 14th: North America #1 (43 performances) ←★Here★ 1998 February 26th - April 24th: Europe (45 performances) 5 June 7th-28th: Latin America (13 performances) “30TH ANNIVERSAY TOUR” June 18th-August 8th: North America #2 (41 performances) October 8th-14th: Japan (5 performances) This is 1997 Year/1998 YES. The release date of “OPEN YOUR EYES” was “November 25th”, so the New Brunswick performance of this work was about one month before that. This is the third concert of "North America #1", which is the very beginning of the tour. When they reunited with Rick Wakeman in 1996, they only performed live for three days in San Luis Obispo, where "KEYS TO ASCENSION" was recorded, so this was their first tour since "TALK JAPAN TOUR 1994." It was a stage where a full-fledged restart had just begun. This work, taken at such a show, is a shot looking down from the second floor seats facing the center of the stage, and it is a truly spectacular view and super beautiful sound. The camera shakes during the opening song "Rhythm Of Love" which makes me worried, but that quickly subsides. Before the end of the first song, it becomes stable, and there are so many close-ups that you can even see the fingertips of Chris Squire and Steve Howe. If you pull back as hard as you can, you'll realize that you're definitely not in the front row, but thanks to the bold zoom and clever camera work, almost nothing is visible. What's even more impressive is the extremely clear sound. Of course, between the songs, there is also the excitement of rejoicing at the revived YES, but when the performance begins, the core of the very clear outline penetrates the space, and the details are super clear. The sound of the hall is crystal clear, and while the chorus work has an exquisite "feeling of rain", there is no muddiness or cloudiness at all. It is an ultra-excellent sound that combines the clarity of a sound board with the solemnity unique to an audience. What is depicted with such quality is a show that is quite different from the official video “HOUSE OF YES: LIVE FROM HOUSE OF BLUES”. Let's organize the sets while comparing them here. 70's Third Album: Clap/I've Seen All Good People (★)/Starship Trooper ・Fragile: Heart Of The Sunrise/Long Distance Runaround/Roundabout (★) ・Crisis: Siberian Khatru/And You And I (★ )・Ocean topography: Leaves Of Green/The Revealing Science Of God・Relayer: Soon・Others: America After the 80s・80s: Rhythm Of Love/Owner Of A Lonely Heart (★)・90s: Open Your Eyes/ Masquerade/Children Of Light *Note: Songs marked with “★” were also played on “HOUSE OF YES: LIVE FROM HOUSE OF BLUES”. ...and it looks like this. Usually, songs that can't be heard on the comparison site are marked with a "★", but this time it's the other way around. There are only 5 songs in the repertoire, and most of them are masterpieces that were not seen in ``HOUSE OF YES''. And the ensemble that makes up such a set is really fresh. As mentioned above, they have just resumed full-scale activities, and before that they were on the “TALK TOUR” and “UNION TOUR” with Trevor Rabin. In other words, it is no exaggeration to say that this is the first tour since the 1970s that has focused on YES's original symphonic rock. Since this is the kick-off of such a restart, it is natural that it will be fresh. In fact, it is not a perfect work, as there is a tape change cut in the intro of "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" and the second half of the last "Starship Trooper" was omitted. However, the basic quality is excellent, and there are many valuable repertoires. Above all, it is a masterpiece that will fill your heart with a refreshing performance that has made a fresh start.
