The Yellow Jackets made a shocking debut in the midst of the fusion boom and quickly rose to become one of the top groups representing LA. This famous live performance after the release of their long-awaited first album is now available for the first time in superb high quality sound! Robben Ford, one of the three great guitarists of LA fusion along with Larry Carlton and Lee Ritenour, plays a spectacular performance! This is the best performance taiko drum record of the heyday of fusion, packaged in its entirety over 80 minutes, with superb high quality sound that has been carefully mastered by the label! The set list included Yellowjackets' debut album, "Imperial Strut," "Sittin' in It," "Ornette," and "Priscilla," as well as their second album, "The Wind in Malibu," released the following year in 1983 (unfortunately Robben only participated in four songs), "Pass It On" and "Nimbus," which were not yet released on the day of the live, Robben Ford's killer "Katie," and the final encore, "North Carolina" from Robben's "The Inside Story." The young Yellowjackets were full of momentum that could even take down a flying bird, and Robben Ford's guitar, which was particularly powerful, was a delight to listen to. Robben's unique sense of scale and time, which have become his trademarks, have already reached a state of perfection, and the performance showed off all of Robben's charm, from the exquisite tear-jerking ballad to the vocal number "North Carolina," which showed off Robben's proud voice. A few years later, Robben was selected to join the group of the great Miles Davis, and it seems that Miles had his eye on Robben from this time onwards!
