Dr. Ebbetts is known for his work on the Beatle CD label, but he also released other artists' LPs. One of them is The Who's masterpiece "WHO'S NEXT". Here too, Dr. Ebbetts carefully traced the original UK version from Track Records. This album seems to have become the definitive version after being remastered nearly 15 years ago, but the finish of the Dr. Ebbetts version is also excellent. It perfectly captures the natural and warm taste that is unique to analog LPs. Most of the songs on this album have become important repertoires on stage, so this album has a strong impression of a dynamic rock sound. However, unlike the version played on stage, the sound of Pete's heavy use of acoustic guitar and his efforts in creating delicate sounds on the songs is often overlooked. Or the impression of the latest synthesizer sound of "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again" is strong. However, the core of each song is Pete's acoustic guitar. The frequent use of this technique was also a technique that Pete was consistently good at when making The Who albums. The appeal of Dr. Ebbetts' version is that it conveys the rich and spacious sound of the acoustic guitar in a mellow manner. In that respect, "Love Ain't For Keeping" may be the one where you can feel the difference from the current CD remaster the most. Not only is it a historic masterpiece of The Who, but it also reminds you of the items that the label released other than the Beatles. Taken from the original UK LP (Track Record 2408 102) (43:16) 1.
