The Who 1989 tour has a lot of leaks of pro-shot footage for screen projection at the venue, but this one contains the screen footage from the Houston performance on September 2nd, which was buried in the midst of all of that. Many of these leaked footage are basically of excellent image quality, and 10 years ago they even released "GIANTS STADIUM 1989"!!! In such a favorable situation, why was there no footage of Houston even though it existed? That's because they failed to record the audio. As you can see from the footage released this time, there were several parts between songs that were silent. That was the reason why it was not widely distributed, even though it was a pro-shot video with excellent image quality. In recent years, a maniac created a version that dubbed the audience recording of the same day, but the sound quality of the sound source used was not good, which created a sense of incongruity with the pro-shot video, and the show that lasted more than two hours could not be synchronized well, and there were some sound gaps here and there. This rough finish was a disaster, and it has not yet become popular among maniacs again. Another enthusiast, who was fed up with such a situation, uploaded a much better quality audience recording, and a version synchronized in a much more precise state, at the end of last year. What is surprising is the high quality of the audience recording used for the audio. Thanks to the on-sound image, it became possible to watch it in a state where stress was relieved all at once without feeling any discomfort with the pro shot video. But that's not all, the audio of the pro shot video for screen projection leaking from this tour is often a less immersive balance than the normal table-direct sound board, and rather, the combination of good quality audience recording has improved the sense of realism at once, but it has been reborn as a finish as if you were watching a normal live video. And the image quality is good after all. The phenomenon of still images being inserted between songs is unique to pro shots for screen projection, but the high image quality seems to be able to be released on a press DVD as it is. That's why the version this time, which solved the audio problem, has a very groundbreaking finish that can only be said to be wonderful. And it's also great that the highlights unique to the 1989 tour are captured everywhere. This tour was often touted for the fact that Pete did not play electric guitar for most of the shows due to his hearing loss, but in fact, it was a groundbreaking tour in which the Who's detailed albums were reproduced on stage for the first time in their live performance history because he used an acoustic guitar. As proof of this, his acoustic guitar played a major role in the "TOMMY" section, which was the highlight of the tour. "Pinball Wizard" was performed for the first time with an atmosphere close to the studio version, and the whole "TOMMY" section was reproduced with the atmosphere of that album on stage by using a big band arrangement, which was a major attraction of the 1989 tour. And at the end of "Boris The Spider" sung by John, Pete pretends to step on a spider, which was a regular production on this tour, and escalates to the point where he even prepares a stuffed spider and steps on it. Pete also plays the guitar with a glove on his right hand, which he wears after the aftereffects of an incident that occurred in Tacoma two weeks ago, when he stabbed his right hand in the arm of a Stratocaster because of the force of playing the windmill technique. In addition, he stopped playing the solo in the middle of "Won't Get Fooled Again", knelt down and massaged his left foot, which made me smile wryly at the scene that seemed to make me feel the creeping old age. However, in the encore, "Real Me" and the CCR cover "Born On The Bayou", rare repertoires from the 1989 tour were played, and especially in the latter, Roger with a guitar played the riff and Pete played the lead, and the arrangement worked perfectly with the double guitar style, and you can see it from a great angle, so it's a valuable pro-shot video full of highlights unique to this tour!
