The new Goldstein recording released by JEMS this time is from San Diego on October 7th. Of course, on this day, "SAN DIEGO 1976: MIKE MILLARD MASTER TAPES" by Mike Millard, a legendary taper and his friend, was released. There, Millard was late, so JEMS patched in another recording from the same day at the time of release, but this time Goldstein is another audience recording. Interestingly, he also missed the beginning of the opening "I Can't Explain", but at least he captured the live performance in a more complete state than Millard. Although the sound image has a sense of distance, it is not as clear as the stereo mirrored recording, but the mono recording is more effective in terms of the closeness and power of the sound. What's even more surprising is that in Goldstein's recording, the sound of John Entwistle's bass comes closer to him from "My Wife" sung by John Entwistle, making it very powerful! This suggests that his bass was resounding at a considerable volume in the venue, but it's surprising that the volume was recorded with a solid grain without saturating.
