THE WHO in 1996 realized a stage reproduction of the immortal rock opera masterpiece "Quadruple Personality". A powerful soundboard album that conveys the whole picture is now available. This work includes “October 20, 1996 San Jose Performance”. This is a soundboard recording recorded during one act of “QUADROPHENIA 96/97 Tour”. In 1973, the stage reenactment of ``Quadruple Personality'', which made heavy use of synths and sound effects, was postponed, but it was not until 1996 that it was realized for the first time. He appeared at the charity event "PRINCE'S TRUST" sponsored by Prince Charles, where he showed off the complete form of his "quadruple personality" for the first time. After that, a tour was held with the theme of re-enacting the album. This work is a soundboard album that pours the whole picture of such a groundbreaking tour into your brain. First of all, let’s look back at the schedule at that time and check the position of the show. 1996, June 29: Prince's Trust performance, July 16-22: North America #1 (6 performances), October 13-November 19: North America #2 (25 performances) ←★Here★・December 6th - 11th: UK (3 performances) 1997, April 23rd - May 18th: Europe (16 performances), July 19th - August 16th: North America #3 (20 performances) This is THE WHO in 1996/1997. Although it toured the United States in three parts, the San Jose performance of this work was the main one among them, “North America #2”. This was the 6th concert. This work recorded at such a show is a close-up soundboard with an extremely immersive feeling. There are various types of "sound boards", but this work is directly connected to the so-called on-site mix table. Official works and FM broadcasts are mixes suitable for home audio and create a pseudo-concert experience, but there are no such decorations in this work. Even with headphones, the loud cheers felt like a distant swell, and there was no sense of the scale of the large venue. It's the type where the instruments and vocals that are being played at the scene just pop out unprocessed. Its individuality may seem bland to general music fans, but for soundboard enthusiasts it is on the contrary supreme. The delicateness in which you can even feel the sound of the instrument itself is a vivid feeling that cannot be achieved with audience recording, and the rawness of the bare performance without any production is tremendous. The reality is overwhelming because there is no artificial concert atmosphere, and instead of having no sense of reliving, you can enjoy the synchronized feeling that the band itself and the brain are completely in sync. And what is spelled out with that sound is the live performance version of "Quadruple Personality". All songs are played in the same order as the album from the beginning, and then four songs are added: ``I'm the Face,'' ``Won't Get Fooled Again,'' ``Behind Blue Eyes,'' and ``Who Are You.'' The main story, ``Quadruple Personality,'' is narrated by Phil Daniels, who starred in the movie ``Farewell to Youth,'' and is told by a seven-person ensemble. This work is a soundboard album that allows you to enjoy each and every sound in a super vivid way. A complete reproduction show of "Quadruple Personality" realized 23 years after the release of the album. This is a masterpiece soundboard album where you can enjoy the live performance from beginning to end. The on-site feeling of immersing your whole body in the concept world is not as good as audience recording, but the tremendous sense of synchronization is unrivaled. A powerful soundboard recording of the first act of the QUADROPHENIA 96/97 Tour, "October 20, 1996 San Jose Performance." With a soundboard directly connected to the mix table with a large audience undulating in the distance, there was no production of a simulated concert experience, and instead the instruments and vocals came out super vividly without any processing. The liveliness of the bare-faced performance without any direction is tremendous, and you can feel the sense of synchronization where the band and their brains are completely in sync. You can fully experience the complete reproduction of ``Quadruple Personality'' with close-up sound, narrated by Phil Daniels, who starred in the movie ``Farewell to the Light of Youth.''
