The 1994 WHITESNAKE reorganization began in 1993, when Coverdale was working on the COVERDALE/PAGE project with Jimmy Page, and received an offer from the label to release WHITESNAKE's best album "GREATEST HITS". After that, the COVERDALE/PAGE project ended incompletely after a seven-show tour of Japan, but Coverdale regained his enthusiasm for the stage through this project, and in response to a request from a Russian event promoter to perform a "solo concert" at the same time, he expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I'd like to tour Europe, not just Russia." Involving promoters from each country, they decided to tour Europe as WHITESNAKE under the pretext of "promoting the "GREATEST HITS" album. Coverdale led WHITESNAKE, which welcomed Warren DeMartini and others, and started the European tour with the "White Nights Festival" in St. Petersburg, Russia, which was the trigger for the "band reorganization".
