The 1994 WHITESNAKE reorganization began in 1993, when Coverdale was working on the COVERDALE/PAGE project with Jimmy Page, and received an offer from the label to release WHITESNAKE's best album "GREATEST HITS". After that, the COVERDALE/PAGE project ended incompletely after a seven-show tour of Japan, but Coverdale regained his enthusiasm for the stage through this project, and in response to a request from a Russian event promoter to perform a "solo concert" at the same time, he expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I'd like to tour Europe, not just Russia." Involving promoters from each country, they decided to tour Europe as WHITESNAKE under the pretext of "promoting the "GREATEST HITS" album. Coverdale led WHITESNAKE, which welcomed Warren DeMartini and others, and started the European tour with the "White Nights Festival" in St. Petersburg, Russia, which was the trigger for the "band reorganization". This video captures the special first day live performance in perfect professional shots using multiple cameras, for a total of 101 minutes! As it was the first performance of a band called together on short notice, there are some scenes where the movements are stiff and there is a lack of rehearsal, but as expected, all of them are talented and ready to go, and you can enjoy a performance that is worth listening to. Coverdale in particular is highly motivated as it is the band's "return match," and his vocals are also in good condition. Furthermore, he pulls the audience with his humorous MC and energetic performance, and the audience is also drawn to the screen. Warren's playing is also reminiscent of Mickey Moody, with slides on "Slide It In" and dobro guitar on "Slow An' Easy." "Judgment Day," in which he and Adrian Vandenberg show off their wonderful interplay, is one of the highlights of the first half of the show, along with the Coverdale/Page number "Don't Leave Me This Way" (pay attention to Warren, who wears a hat and smokes a cigarette during this song to create a mood!). You can clearly hear the details of the show that cannot be conveyed by the sound source alone. An outdoor live show on a sunny day is unusual in appearance, but on this day, an extremely rare surprise occurs in WHITESNAKE's history. Coverdale, who moved the audience with his passionate singing of "Soldier Of Fortune," responded to the audience's request and played "Smoke On The Water"! This is probably because of the "Deep Purple connection," but it is extremely unusual for WHITESNAKE to cover a second-period number instead of a third-period number. It is also not to be missed that David starts singing "They All" in the third-period arrangement. Although it was a sudden event of only one chorus, the fan service unique to the first day made the impression of the live show strong. From around the instrumental number "Oi" in the latter half of the live, the surroundings of the venue gradually became darker, and the atmosphere of the live show became even more exciting. In "Here I Go Again", Warren was smoking a cigarette again, and the scene of him standing up as the drums came in continued, making it a "picture" of him. On the completely darkened stage, the band performed two songs that are indispensable to the band, "Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City" and "Still Of The Night", as an encore, and the special live show ended in a perfect mood. This work, which captured the live show on this day, which also had the meaning of warming up for the world tour, with such perfect images and sound, is literally premium value. The 1994 WHITESNAKE live footage includes a TV broadcast pro shot of the "Sonoria Festival" held in Milan, Italy on July 7th, as well as "CLASS OF 1994," a high-quality audience shot of the London "Hammersmith Apollo" performance on July 18th. However, there is no footage that exceeds this work in quality, even in the history of WHITESNAKE (the high-frequency noise problem seen in various previously released titles has of course been cleared)! This work, which captures the 1994 live performance in perfect master quality, is definitely a must-see and must-have for all WHITESNAKE fans! Enjoy the "only this time" WHITESNAKE live performance to the fullest along with the definitive 1994 audience sound source "BEATING HEAVY"!
