WHITESNAKE in 1983 was more powerful than the Bernie Marsden era and much bluer than the John Sykes era. The official footage that symbolizes the unique era has been reprinted and released. This work was filmed at the Donington performance on August 20, 1983. This is the highest peak version of the traditional official pro shot "MONSTERS OF ROCK '83". The masterpiece pro shot of the same era "LIVE... IN THE WEST OF THE RHINE: THE VIDEO" was also released at the same time. First of all, let's take a bird's-eye view of the activities at that time and check the positional relationship of each. 1982 October: "SAINTS & SINNERS" completed November: Tour rehearsals December 10-31: Europe #1a (14 shows) 1983 January 1-31: Europe #1b (18 shows) February 7-23: Japan (10 shows) March 19: West German TV appearances IN THE WEST OF THE RHINE April: "SLIDE IT IN" production begins August 14-September 6: Europe #2 (11 shows) September-December: Moody/Hodgkinson replaced by Sykes/Murray This is WHITESNAKE in 1982/1983. In April 1983, production of the new album "SLIDE IT IN" began, but it was decided that they would headline the big event "MONSTERS OF ROCK". The band temporarily suspended recording and conducted a mini-tour of 11 shows, "Europe #2." The highlight of the tour was Donington, which was the third show. This big stage is also famous for the fact that official footage remains. However, there is still no movement to make an official DVD, and it remains out of print. At present, the best version of this video is the Japanese laser disc released at that time. This work is a mint quality version of the Japanese laser disc that was brought to the studio and meticulously made into a DVD using professional equipment. In fact, this work was also popular as the DVD "MONSTERS OF ROCK 1983." A CD of the super-excellent rehearsal sound board was also included, but this time only the main video version was reproduced. Official video: MONSTERS OF ROCK '83 This work also includes delicious bonus footage, but first the main part. This is the best version of the official video "MONSTERS OF ROCK '83." The beauty of this video and the wonderful sound are shocking. Super image quality that retains the natural warmth of analog recording and clearly shows Coverdale's upper arm as he holds the microphone. Laser discs have a noiseless stability that is completely different from VHS tape. Even if you have a rough video transcribed DVDR or a laser disc, you will be surprised at how much information was packed into it. At this time, there is also the super masterpiece bootleg "LIVE... IN THE WEST OF THE RHINE (Shades 1984)" which will be released at the same time this week, but the image quality of this officially recorded work is definitely higher. Even if the official excavation is made in the future, the master tape that has deteriorated over time will not be able to surpass this work... It is such a beautiful image. A live performance with such super quality is truly wonderful. The set is also different from "LIVE... IN THE WEST OF THE RHINE", so let's organize it by comparing it. WHITESNAKE (8 songs) Lovehunter: Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues/Lovehunter Fool For Your Loving: Ready An' Willing/Fool For Your Loving Saints & Sinners: Rough An' Ready/Here I Go Again Others: Guilty Of Love (★)/Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City Deep Purple (2 songs) Mistreated (★)/Soldier Of Fortune *Note: The "★" mark indicates a song that was not included in "LIVE... IN THE WEST OF THE RHINE". ...And so it goes like this. At that time, WHITESNAKE was in the midst of producing the masterpiece "SLIDE IT IN", and had just released the single "Guilty Of Love/Gambler" to coincide with their appearance at "MONSTERS OF ROCK 1983". This is a masterpiece that drips with the band potential that produced the masterpiece that would change the fate of the White Snake. The powerful blues rock explodes throughout the album, but the must-see is "Mistreated". The feast of Cozy, who knows the songs well in RAINBOW, and the originator Coverdale is amazing. In the "SAINTS & SINNERS TOUR", "Crying In The Rain" took over the position, but it was revived in the holy land of Donington to commemorate the big stage. You can enjoy that masterpiece in official quality. And another special song is "Guilty Of Love", which was performed for the pre-release single. After that, it is a song that is played metallically by various members, but the line take in the "SLIDE IT IN" production lineup is unique in this work. The elastic dynamism, the taste of the guitar with twins, and the accent of the phrase that only the originator knows well are the best taste that only these six people can produce. The two songs "Mistreated" and "Guilty Of Love" can't be heard in "LIVE... IN THE WEST OF THE RHINE" or "DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1983". It's a line sound only for this work, and a pro shot. Bonus video: Cozy Powell's drum solo Following this main story, the drum solo that was performed on the same day but cut from the official video was recorded. Cozy's handwritten "Cozy Powell Drum Solo Donington" was also re-digitized in the same high-end environment as the main story from a vivid beta cassette (Sony L370 PAL Beta Video). It is legendary that he used a real helicopter and even fireworks, and it is definitely the strongest and biggest solo in Cozy's life. It was made possible by Coverdale's belief that "anything worth doing is worth overdoing," and you can literally witness a once-in-a-lifetime solo with a pro shot. WHITESNAKE in 1983, when Cozy, Mel, and John left this world and will never return again. This is the highest quality CD on the planet that allows you to enjoy the momentary brilliance of the "Power Blues White Snake". The masterpiece video that has still been ignored by the official side, and the extremely valuable Cozy drum solo. Multi-camera pro shot of the "Donington performance on August 20, 1983". This is the highest quality version ever reprinted from the Japanese laser disc of the official video "MONSTERS OF ROCK '83". You can also enjoy "Guilty Of Love" performed by the originator and "Mistreated" featuring Cozy, Lord and Coverdale in the ultimate quality. This is the definitive version that includes a bonus recording of Cozy's drum solo, which was cut from the official video.
