Weather Report live collection. This title is a coupling of two soundboard recordings from 1975. Both are rhythm sections of Alphonso Johnson and Chester Thompson (known for backing Frank Zappa, Santana, Phil Collins, etc.). Weather is famous for its Jaco era, but Jaco's sound is quite fusion-like, so if you like jazz rock, this is definitely the one for you. It's cool enough to be ranked second only to Miles' band. Disc 1 is a remastered recording of the Bottom Line performance in New York, which I've heard for the first time on a stereo soundboard. The master was tweaked by an overseas collector, but it has been significantly upgraded since then. Disc 2 is a performance in Paris, about a month after the Bottom Line performance. This one has a mono sound image, and there are occasional noises during broadcast and sound distortions caused by over-leveling, but it is still a powerful, high-quality sound. The first two minutes of "LUSITANOS" contained a lot of noise, which was too harsh to enjoy as part of the main part of the show and distracted from the overall performance, so it was cut, but an uncut version has been included at the end as a bonus track.
