This is a 2-disc set of the first live performance from the original master recorded by one of the most famous tapers on the East Coast, recorded in clear sound quality, part 1 and part 2 of the Blue Note concert in New York on January 15, 1991. 1991 was a very fulfilling year for Shorter. Although he did not release a leader album, it was a busy year in his long jazz career, joining a world tour with the so-called super quartet centered around Hancock, participating in a reunion concert held by Miles in France, and even participating in European jazz festivals held in the summer. Now, what has been released this time is the original sound source of the master DAT tape recorded by TapeTyrant, one of the most famous tapers on the East Coast, on an Aiwa AD-F450. Before the advent of DAT, everything was recorded mainly on a Sony D5 equipped with a NAK 300, but it is said that it was a serious job to get the best seats possible and record this Blue Note concert to prevent chattering around. The cooperation of Professor Goody, who professionally corrected the pitch of this recording, is also essential. Now, the birth of a new masterpiece that brings the potential of the Shorter Band to the forefront. Live at the Blue Note, New York City, NY 01/15/1991 Disc 1 (early show) 1.The Three Marias 2.Lush Life 3.Virgo Rising 4.Stelle By Starlight 5.Joy Rider 6.Endangered Species Disc 2 (late show) 1.Sanctuary 2.Lush Life 3.Ballroom In The Sky / Footprints / Ballroom In The Sky 4.Over Shadow Hill Way 5.Face On The Barroom Floor 6.On The Milky Way Express Wayne Shorter (ss, ts) Michelle Foreman (keyb) Tracy Warmworth (b) Teri Lynn Carrington (dr) Frank Colon (perc)
