This is the first title of Victor Wooten, a transcendent bassist representing the 80's. This is from a special show in 1991. The first part is a bass battle between two top-notch bassists, Edgar Mayer, who is also a classical musician and also active in bluegrass, and jazz bassist Ray Brown. It's a thrilling session that you can't take your eyes off, with a distinct individuality in everything from the instruments used, the way they play, their facial expressions, and of course their sound. The second part was a show by veteran fiddler Mark O'Connor, and here again, Victor did a great job with a fast number using the electric fiddle. However, although the title is in Victor's name, the main character of the second part is Mark, and an incredibly luxurious cast of guests. In addition to Victor and Edgar, David Hungate appears on bass. Brenton Mason, one of the greatest guitarists in the bluegrass world, came to Japan last year. Terry McMillan, a master harmonica player, has sadly passed away. In addition, there are probably the older sisters of the cello and viola from the classical world. It can be described as a relaxing and luxurious festival, bringing together masters of a wide range of musical styles, including fusion, bluegrass, jazz, classical, rock, funk, and pop. However, Victor is not an ordinary person, as he shows his individuality and presence in most genres! A video of Flecktones will be released soon. stay tuned.
