This is the highest quality recording ever of a live party hosted by metal magazine RIP at the Hollywood Palladium on November 9, 1990. Bonus footage from Skid Row's "Saturday Night Special" appearance guarantees 40 minutes of riveting entertainment. As you'd expect, this live performance featured Axl, Slash, and Duff from Guns N' Roses, James, Lars, and Kirk from Metallica, and Sebastian Bach from Skid Row. Enjoy this incredible, all-star performance in high definition. Sebastian belts out "You're Crazy" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" (Slash's performance, with its completely different style, is a highlight!), and Axel performs Skid Row's "Piece of Me" and even the Nazareth cover "Hair of the Dog," later included on "SPAGHETTI INCIDENT." The footage shows Axel singing Skid Row songs with incredible energy and action, a rare treat! Sebastian joins in on "Hair of the Dog," and the two sing together, before Axel retreats. Metallica's James and Kirk then appear and perform "Whiplash," but Sebastian makes a mistake halfway through. They then replay Whiplash without Sebastian, this time with James singing. During the replay, Axel stage-dives twice and Sebastian once, sending the audience into a panic. Although it's an audience shot, it was shot on a proper tripod (probably for record-keeping purposes), so it's not frustrating to watch. The audio is low only on the first track, "You're Crazy," but it clears up from the second song onward. The footage shows Genie, who is quite young, or perhaps a direct copy from the master, and is exceptionally clear. This is a first-rate recording and entertainment piece. The bonus track, Skid Row's "SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL" live show, showcases the band's peak performance of "Piece of Me" and "Monkey Business," unique to this period. Kiddie Metal (Comedy Skit), featured Axl and Slash impersonators performing a children's song in a comical yet heavy style, is included midway through the recording.
