Approximately one and a half years after the establishment of the "Jazz Composers Guild" in New York in 1964, which is said to be the "October Revolution" of new jazz, which can be said to be the first year of a revolutionary period of change in America, the home of jazz. In 1966, the "New Jazz Artists Guild" was formed in Germany, which was leading the new European jazz movement, bringing together ambitious jazzmen from not only Germany but all over Europe aiming to innovate jazz. Various historical concerts and studio sessions will be held spectacularly by members of the "Guild" mainly in Germany. Among them, the "Baden-Baden New Jazz Meeting" is the most important session that was held for the first time in December of this year and has a long history that continues to this day! Every year, the lineup boasts a lineup that brings together all the musicians who are attracting the most attention at that time of year, and is sure to make fans swoon, each one of them a country's main. This lineup transcends the boundaries of jazz. It is an event that focuses on truly creative music, and its overwhelming content is worth checking out... "Baden-Baden New Jazz Meeting" 1969, released by the same label in February and receiving great acclaim. Following the sessions in 2007 and 1977, the 1973 studio session has been released for the first time as a 3-disc set with over 3 hours recorded on the highest quality sound board! The characteristic of this 1973 album "Baden-Baden~" is that you can listen to many performances that reflect the heyday of progressive rock, which boldly incorporated synthesizers and electrics, and it is no longer possible to hear the boundaries between jazz, rock, and modern music. We are proud of the more interesting content! For example, guitarist Philippe Katelin, violinist Zbigniew Seifert, keyboardist Dave McCrae (known for Robert Wyatt's Matching Mole), and drummer John Marshall produce an intense jazz record that rivals Soft Machine. A transcendent acoustic guitar duo of Kateline and Toto Blanke, who could be said to be the forerunner of the acoustic guitar boom after rock and super guitar trios, and trombone and voice by Albert Mangelsdorf and Norma Winston. The mysterious duo symbolizes this year's sessions, and Jasper Fant, a genius keyboardist/synthesizer born in the Netherlands who continues to be active as a pianist and bandleader, is also an influence on Keith Emerson. A contemporary music-style duo of Hof and Wolfgang Downer on piano, a number featuring early Tangerine Dream-style performances by Jasper and Marshall and Peter Trunk on bass, and Charlie Mariano's alto, Jasper, Downer and McCrae trio. A great picture scroll of human experimental electronics, a free-form performance with exploding Perry Robinson's clarinet, a fierce rhythm section of bassist Jenny Clark, drummer Edward Vasala, and McCrae, and an intense performance by Jasper, Vasala, and Blanke. Avant-garde electric meditation, Mangelsdorf, Mariano, Marshall & Vasala's twin drums, bassist Pal Danielson, tenor Bobby Jones, and Robinson play, and Jasper's performance follows Coltrane's spiritual jazz. A fantastic work in which Winston's vocals and scat intersect, with a fusion of synthesizers in the background, featuring keyboardist Chris McGregor, Seifert, Katelyn, Mangelsdorf, McCrae, Jasper, Downer, Danielson, Clark. , most of the members who participated in the session, such as Vasara, Marshall, and Winston, participated in the march, which was a combination of McGregor's best African jazz and the Duke Ellington Orchestra, and Danielson, Clark, and Trunk's bass trio. In the last number of the book-only trio, Seifert is brilliant, and Crimson, a violinist from the same period, plays a turbulent performance in a magma state... All kinds of experimental and progressive attempts pop out one after another like a kaleidoscope, and it's completely boring. It's a wonderful and fulfilling content that you can listen to all at once! If anything, I'd like to recommend this item to progressive jazz/rock fans who like Canterbury music, rather than those who are obsessed with jazz! In any case, this is a highly recommended title for those who are particular about a particular type of music, as it is a condensed collection of eye-opening good music!
