A live album of a Bowie memorial concert by an all-star cast is now available. The memorial concert was held twice in New York, but this work was recorded on the first day, "March 31, 2016 at Carnegie Hall." This concert was originally planned during Bowie's lifetime. The performance was supposed to honor his achievements, but upon hearing of his death, the performance was suddenly changed to a tribute performance. Coupled with the gorgeous performers, tickets were very competitive. It was a premiere performance that was even featured in the news as it was traded for over 350,000 yen. The cast is truly gorgeous. THE ROOTS and Patti Smith, who were originally scheduled, will not be participating, but THE FLAMING LIPS, PIXIES, CAT POWER, J. Mascis & Sean Lennon, Jacob Dylan, Deborah Harry, Cyndi Lauper, Michael... Stipe, Ann Wilson, Robin Hitchcock, Laurie Anderson, Rickie Lee Jones, Perry Farrell and many more. They take turns for each song and play Bowie's famous songs. Particularly unique is HOLY HOLY, a project band formed by THE SPIDERS FROM MARS drummers Woody Woodmansey and Tony Visconti. The project started in 2013, and a "THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD" reenactment tour was also announced in June of this year. This work also features the top number “Width Of A Circle” from “THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD”. This work, which contains such a special concert, is an audience album that fully captures the atmosphere of the scene. Although it is not the type of “just like a sound board”, it allows you to enjoy the beautiful and elegant sound of the music hall “Carnegie Hall”. That is perfect for the mood of “Bowie memorial”. At the opening, organizer Michael Dorf speaks about the purpose of the concert and his tribute to Bowie, and each performer sings with great care and respect. Furthermore, the applause of the audience who witnessed this event spread gently throughout the venue. It conveys the emotion contained in the singing voice, the applause, and even the feeling of breathing. Of course, the beauty of the musical tone is truly Carnegie Hall. Although there is a sense of distance, the core of the musical tone and the outline are clearly delivered without blurring. On top of that, a soft, transparent reverberation envelops you. The memorial performance depicted with that sound is a wonderful thing that touches your heart. Each of the all-stars sings songs that have become their own flesh and blood, expressing their feelings for Bowie, but one song after another, completely different voices sing familiar melodies. Although it makes you realize that he is no longer there, traces of Bowie appear in every part of his singing voice, and you can feel that he is still alive among musicians. And the last song is "Space Oddity" featuring NYC CHILDREN'S CHOIR. Led by an acoustic guitar, the children's singing voices fill the space of Carnegie, and the film ends with a huge ovation from the audience. Although this work is not Bowie's latest concert, it is the latest recording where you can feel him. Three months have passed since Bowie left. Is it “already” or “not yet”? As I begin to get used to my daily life without him, this is a song that makes me feel ``Bowie in this moment'' again with the singing voices of the gorgeous performers.
