The huge guitar event "GUiTAR LEGENDS". The superb professional shots are to be released. This event was a music festival planned to support the "Seville Expo (EXPO'92 SEVILLA)" held in 1992. As the name suggests, the main event was a festival of famous guitarists, and 27 guitarists shared the stage over four days from October 15th to 19th, 1991. Five 90-minute concert programs and a one-hour documentary program were produced from the event, with live broadcasts in 45 countries around the world and recorded broadcasts in 105 countries. This work is a professional shot of one of those Japanese broadcasts. The quality is superb. Of course, it is an air check from that time, but the image beauty is so incredible that it is hard to believe. There are no dubbing marks or deterioration over time, and there is no white line noise or unevenness in the tape running. It is as beautiful as an official release laser disc. In fact, this pro shot itself exists as a (somewhat suspicious) imported version, but this work is a Japanese broadcast with Japanese subtitles that is different from that. Since neither the Japanese laser disc nor the VHS was released, it must have been an air check... The show depicted with such extraordinary visual beauty is also gorgeous and tickles the hearts of enthusiasts. Since this is one of five concert programs, not all 27 guitarists appear in this work. Brian May is the host, and Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Nuno Bettencourt, and Joe Walsh appear. Singers Gary Cherone and Paul Rodgers also participate, and this is an episode that features a star who is very popular in Japan. In addition, the backing band is also luxurious. Two people participated in each part, with Rick Wakeman/Mike Moran on keyboards, Neil Murray/Nathan East on bass, and Steve Ferrone/Cozy Powell on drums. These people changed depending on the song, or played in twins. The show was composed of about five parts for each guitarist. The order was Joe Satriani → Steve Vai → Brian May → Joe Walsh → All Star. Nuno Bettencourt & Gary Cherone and Paul Rodgers were sandwiched in between. Nuno & Gary's "More Than Words" was too ordinary and not very interesting, but the rest of the show was gorgeous. Although the show ended with an "All Star" performance, the others were full of co-stars. For example, May also plays on Satriani's "Big Bad Moon" and Vai's "Liberty," and Vai and Satriani also play solos on May's "Tie Your Mother Down." May/Vai/Satriani play on Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way" and Paul Rodgers' "All Right Now," and the show gets more and more luxurious as it progresses. Moreover, there are Neil Murray, Cozy Powell, and Rick Wakeman in the back. Neil and Cozy are probably only participating because they are members of the BRIAN MAY BAND, but former WHITESNAKE member Vai plays "For The Love Of God" with the former WHITESNAKE rhythm section in the back... The ensemble, which doesn't suit them at all despite their common connection (bitter smile), tickles them exquisitely (by the way, Vai introduces it as "the first song he's played in public," but he's been doing it a lot during his solo time in WHITESNAKE!?). Even more interesting is "All Right Now." While thinking "Queen + Paul Rodgers ahead of you!" in the scene where Rodgers and May stand side by side, the BRIAN MAY BAND can be seen in the background. And Satriani & Vai's master and disciple turn the guitar solo with May.... There are also Gary Cherone who sings "Now I'm Here" more lively than VAN HALEN, "Hey Joe" which is like a pun centered on Joe Satriani, and so on. The more you know each of their careers and inclinations, the more luxurious and natural the co-starring becomes. The guitar hero war broke out in the 1980s. It is no exaggeration to say that this work is the last battlefield. It was the last era when guitarists were still heroes, even though they were already escaping the stupid tech competition. This is a piece that captures that big event with the best professional shots. Live at Auditorio de la Cartuja, Sevilla, Andalusia, Spain 19th October 1991 Broadcast Date: 5th November 1993 1.
