Finally, BLACK SABBATH's "DUMFRIES 1969" is released, which is the "moment of the birth of heavy music". We highly recommend the masterpiece program "HEAVY METAL: FROM BLACK SABBATH TO METALLICA", which gives a real feel for the history of heavy metal after that. This is a historical special program produced by the British BBC and broadcast in the Netherlands in 2008. The theme is "History of Heavy Metal", and it is a documentary that introduces the birth of BLACK SABBATH to METALLICA's Black Album in about an hour. The program is structured in a traditional way, with performance scenes such as live performances, music videos, and BBC appearances, as well as interviews with the people involved and image footage. To be honest, the comments are in English and the subtitles are in Dutch, so it's difficult to understand exactly what is being said, but strangely enough, even if you're not good at English, you can understand the content of the conversation. The comments are all basic things we have seen and heard many times in magazines and history videos, such as "I cut off my finger while working in a factory" and "I wanted to play music that would scare the customers." So, isn't it interesting? Not at all. Not only are the performance scenes, which include rare footage, excellent image footage. For example, in the scene where Ozzy says, "I met him when I saw a recruitment poster for Ozzy Zigg," the actual Birmingham cityscape is reproduced along with an "Ozzy Zigg" poster on a street corner. Furthermore, in the part where Ozzy was fired from BLACK SABBATH and was feeling down, a room with liquor bottles and his bare big toe covered in white powder is shown, and the many episodes we have heard many times before are realistically "visualized." Moreover, BLACK SABBATH is not the only band that appears. The bands that are themes in the era are BLACK SABBATH → DEEP PURPLE → JUDAS PRIEST → IRON MAIDEN → MOTOLEY CRUE → OZZY OSBOURNE → METALLICA. It is a lineup that hits the points that Japanese people like. JUDAS PRIEST is particularly outstanding. In the episode where Rob Halford "invented" the leather and stud costume, the interior of an adult shop in London is projected, and the whip and leather costume there intersect with Rob on stage. Even more shocking is the trial over a boy who committed suicide because of "Better By You, Better Than Me". The history video of JUDAS PRIEST also has a moment of real trial footage, but this work is much longer than that. In the scene where he testifies that "When the camera is rotated in reverse, it sounds like 'Do it!'", Rob's astonished face in the courtroom is clearly visible. Furthermore, the scene where the prosecution pursues the band with the murder weapon (the real thing!) in hand, and the witness testifies, even uses the real audio from the scene. This trial is also a famous page in metal history as a "bad side", but to show it in such a real scene... As expected, it is the BBC, which has walked history with rock. Furthermore, Glenn Tipton, who won the trial, comes out of the courtroom and signs autographs for fans... His complex expression, which is a mixture of relief and a feeling of not being able to be happy, clearly shows the anger and sadness that he slammed into the great masterpiece "PAINKILLER" (yes, that album is not just aggression!). In this way, this work is a video that visualizes even the subtle emotions hidden in the masterpieces that we have loved until now. Other things include the monster hobby brought by IRON MAIDEN, and when it crossed the Atlantic to MOTOLEY CRUE, the difference between the British and American images suddenly changed to a strange medieval image and a glamorous woman. The culture that heavy metal has followed is visualized step by step. Yes, we have loved heavy metal as music, but there was definitely a "culture" there. "Heavy metal culture" that was sometimes T-shirts, sometimes headbanging, and sometimes girls. We have lived and breathed in "metal culture" in a dimension that goes beyond just songs, melodies, and beats. This film is one that allows you to see it with your eyes and experience it with a sense of touch. This week, BLACK SABBATH's "DUMFRIES 1969," which was the beginning of it all, will be released. Its weight could only be expressed in the five letters "historical significance." However, I would like you to feel the weight and meaning engraved in our lives, which could not be conveyed by such dry five letters. Documentary about History of Heavy Metal 1. Opening 2.
