The "HIDE YOUR SHEEP TOUR" was the only South American tour in the history of VAN HALEN. A multi-camera pro shot of the tour will be released. This work was filmed 35 years ago, at the "January 16, 1983 Caracas performance (Venezuela)". This is a two-disc set that combines two TV broadcast masters. The "HIDE YOUR SHEEP TOUR" that accompanied "DIVER DOWN" ended in 1982 (81 performances in North America only), but a large-scale South American tour was realized after that. Although South America is now a major rock market, it was still an unexplored area in the 1980s during the Cold War. Especially in 1982-1983, there was the invasion of Grenada and the Falklands War, and it was not so easy for rock bands to tour. However, our Big V boldly toured in such a situation. This is a good opportunity to check out their 1986 live schedule, including their only South American tour.・January 16-18: Caracas (3 performances) ←★Here★ ・January 21-23: Sao Paulo (3 performances) ・January 25-27: Rio de Janeiro (3 performances) ・January 28-February 1: Porto Alegre (3 performances) ・February 5: Montevideo performance ・February 7 + 11: Buenos Aires (2 performances) - 3 months later - ・May 29: Appearance at US FESTIVAL This is the schedule for 1983. Although they have visited Puerto Rico and Mexico in Central America on other tours, this was their only show on the South American continent. It was not just a short trip, but a full-scale South American tour with a total of 16 performances. The Caracas performance included in this work is the concert on the first day. It was a groundbreaking South American tour, so it was also broadcast on television. The Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires performances are known as standard footage, but the Caracas performance in this work is one of those professional shots. Two of the best existing masters are included. The first disc is a long master. It's not a full show, but a full broadcast, but you can still enjoy the precious original VH for about 70 minutes with multiple cameras. As expected, it's a South American broadcast in the undeveloped era, so it can't be called "official class", but the glossy screen is eye-catching. There is no color bleeding or tape twisting, and Dave's blonde hair and Eddie's smile approaching in a close-up are clear. Although the dark screen with weak color development is a bit disappointing, the beauty of the details is one of the many "HIDE It is an exceptional piece even for the "YOUR SHEEP TOUR" pro shot. Disc 2, which appears instead, is a bright and colorful master with almost no color fading. Although it is the same broadcast, about 15 minutes at the beginning are not recorded (from "Romeo Delight" to "Secrets"), but the vivid color is completely different! Of course, it is not an unreasonable highlight processing by digital processing, but the beauty of the natural master freshness. Until now, it has been said that the broadcast itself of the Caracas performance was dark, but it is a master that proves that the original broadcast was extremely vivid. The show drawn by such two excellent masters is exquisite. The band's potential to be excited in front of the great heyday of "1984" is tremendous, and even though it was the first day, the ensemble was also familiar because they had toured North America until December of the previous year. And above all, the explosive tension of the first South American performance! Although Diamond Dave is always flashy, the excitement of this work is amazing. The stage is narrow and the fuss is jumping, bouncing, dancing wildly... It's always the same (bitter smile), but the momentum is more than usual. He later produced the Spanish album "SONRISA SALVAJE" of "EAT 'EM AND SMILE", so he also has a good time in Spanish. Of course, the South American vibe in front of them is overwhelming, and even with the camera work that barely shows the audience, it's a tremendous excitement that you can see that it's a large crowd just by the noise. The video itself is a valuable original VH, and it is an even more valuable multi-camera pro shot. Moreover, it is a masterpiece that allows you to witness the historic night of the only South American tour first day with two of the highest peak masters.
