A shocking soundboard album is set to be released. The shocking work is a studio rehearsal from 1979. VAN HALEN's finest soundboard albums "WICHITA 1978" and "TUCSON 1979" will be released in the 1970s, but this work was also excavated by the same route. Although the exact date and location are unknown, this is a stereo soundboard recording of a tour rehearsal for "WORLD VACATION TOUR 1979" accompanying "Legendary Bomber". Rehearsals can be diverse, from practice scenes to memorize songs to dress rehearsals that are just like the real thing, but this work is closer to the latter. Although it is not a complete full show rehearsal, there is no so-called practice feeling at all, and the heat of each song is as good as the real thing. Rather than checking the flow and details of the show, it is a rehearsal in which each person's breathing is soaked into their bodies in preparation for the real thing. The quality of conveying such a rehearsal is also amazing. It is a direct-connected sound board that explodes with an extraordinary sense of directness. In fact, it is not as neat as "WICHITA 1978" and "TUCSON 1979", and there are overpeaks and distortions due to the overwhelming power. It is not a type that can be used as an official substitute, but that is why the explosive performance is so intense. Although it is a very harsh live performance, it feels detailed like a studio recording. On top of that, the mood unique to the rehearsal site is also delicious. After "You're No Good", Eddie interrupts by saying "Let's take a break. I'm going to eat a hamburger", and the sound check of the drums and bass and the sound of the tape stopping are vivid. The Jimmy Reed cover "Bright lights, Big City", which will be performed on stage at "WORLD INVASION TOUR 1980", is also played, but on this tour, there is no intention to play and it is extremely relaxed. At the end, there is a conversation about looking for a reel recorder. Perhaps he was wondering whether to record on his next work "Dark Law" ... The latter half of the album, "Guitar Solo Jam/Sound Check" and "Acoustic Jam Home Demo", further stimulate such delusions. In stark contrast to the fierce band performance, Eddie plays the former on electric guitar and the latter on acoustic guitar in a freaky manner, but his casual playing is interspersed with virtuosity. There is an anecdote that Ted Templeman, who happened to hear the practice, suggested recording it, which became "Eruption", but the practice Ted heard may have been like this... The backstage that drives such delusions is depicted with a sound directly connected to the brain. In addition, five takes of the sound check are recorded as a bonus track. Here, the drums and bass are played even looser, and there is a little guitar. The performance is intense despite being a rehearsal, as expected of VAN HALEN in 1979. This is a treasure album where you can enjoy the atmosphere unique to such performances and rehearsals on a direct-connected sound board for about 70 minutes. This is a record that lets you share a different space with the band members, neither in a studio album nor in a live concert. Unreleased Studio Recording STEREO SBD (69:09) 1.
