The shock just won't stop! A completely unreleased soundboard from the "DIVER DOWN" era that has the whole world buzzing is being unearthed in a new excavation series. The latest installment will be released as two titles at the same time! The hybrid duo was unearthed from an unknown show where no audience recordings have been found until now. This work is a stereo soundboard recording of the "August 6, 1982 St. Louis Performance," which is the sequel. Recently, there have been a series of top-quality soundboards every week, and this week there are two at the same time. Some people may have started collecting midway through, so let's start by organizing our collections and take a bird's-eye view of the activities at the time. 1982 ("DIVER DOWN" released April 14th) July 14th - August 21st: North America #1 (26 shows) ←★here★ September 1st - 25th: North America #2 (17 shows) October 7th - December 11th: North America #3 (38 shows) ←TORONTO 1982 and others 1983 January 16th - February 12th: South America (15 shows) May 29th: US Festival Appearance This is VAN HALEN in 1982/1983. The soundboard excavation rush began in 2024, and last year, the "North America #3" trilogy "WORCESTER 1982 1ST NIGHT SOUNDBOARD," "3RD NIGHT SOUNDBOARD," and "TORONTO 1982 SOUNDBOARD" attracted attention, but this year's epicenter is "North America #1." Let's focus on the dates further. Details of "North America # 1" ・July 14th-23rd (7 performances) *July 24th "BILOXI 1982" ・July 27th + 29th (2 performances) *July 30th "LOUISVILLE 1982" *July 31st "FORT WAYNE 1982" *August 3rd "ROCKFORD 1982" ・August 4th: Des Moines performance *August 6th: St. Louis performance ←★This work★ ・August 7th-21st (11 performances) ... and so on. "LOUISVILLE 1982", "FORT WAYNE 1982", and "ROCKFORD 1982" were three consecutive performances, but this work's St. Louis performance was the 15th performance with one gap. This work, recorded at such a show, is a direct-connected sound board with a strong and ultra-thick core that goes wild. The direct recording from the mix desk creates an incredible sense of direct connection, imprinting itself in your brain with a raw, unprocessed, and unedited sound. The cheers are so balanced, barely more than a distant whisper, that it feels like you're actually at a concert, but listening with headphones offers a sense of otherworldly synchronization, as if your skull is integrated into the PA system. While these characteristics are common to all albums in the series, this album is particularly distinctive, with the sense of complete harmony between the four musicians' live performance and your entire body. This ecstatic sound depicts the stage of the "HIDE YOUR SHEEP Tour," where the set was solidified and the band was in full swing. While this album was recorded on a single 90-minute tape, it's not a complete recording, capturing the majority of the show. Let's take a look at the tracks included. Diver Down (8 songs), The Full Bug, Little Guitars, Where Have All The Good Times Gone!, Hang 'Em High, Cathedral, Secrets, Intruder, (Oh) Pretty Woman, Others (9 songs), Fuse of Fire: Runnin' With The Devil, Jamie's Cryin', Ice Cream Man (★), Legendary Bomber: Dance The Night Away, Somebody Get Me A Doctor, D.O.A. (★★), Others: Romeo Delight, Unchained, Everybody Wants Some!! *Note: Songs marked with a "★" are not available on the sister album "TORONTO 1982: SOUNDBOARD." In particular, songs marked with a "★★" are not available on the sister album "BILOXI 1982: SOUNDBOARD." ...And so it goes. The tape ends with about two minutes of "D.O.A." after the guitar solo. The final tracks, "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love," "Bottoms Up!," and "You Really Got Me," were omitted. While this is difficult to resolve, listening to them actually feels surprisingly complete. This is likely due to the recording technique being familiarized to the person recording them, "Roy." The use of 90-minute tape minimizes gaps in the recordings, and the transitions are quick and seamless. While the length isn't as impressive as "FORT WAYNE 1982" or "ROCKFORD 1982," it's more than worth listening to (perhaps due to the richer performances). While the soundboard series initially simply amazed me, with each installment, I began to see the band's evolution. This is the latest in a series of ultra-thick soundboards that imprint everything, from their daily routines and tone to their subtleties, into my mind. This is the first stereo soundboard recording of the "August 6, 1982 St. Louis Concert." This is the latest in the popular soundboard excavation series, a masterpiece digitized from the original leaked master by the same person involved. The set is solidified, and it is a pleasure board that will imprint the highly skilled live performance in your brain. Checkerdome, St. Louis, MO, USA 6th August 1982 STEREO SBD Disc:1 (45:30) 1.
