The shock just keeps on building! A completely unreleased soundboard from the "DIVER DOWN" era, which has the whole world buzzing, is being unearthed in a new excavation series. The latest installment is the simultaneous release of two titles! This hybrid duo was unearthed from an unknown show where no audience recordings have ever been found. This work is a stereo soundboard recording of the "August 3, 1982 Rockford Performance," the first part of the series. As anyone who has paid attention to this article knows, powerful soundboards from 1982 are currently being released at a furious pace. While the soundboards from Dave's time are dizzying enough, all of them are never-before-heard, first-time sound sources, making them, without exception, incredibly high-quality. With such a release rush, the position of the show is particularly important. First, as always, let's take a bird's-eye view of the activities at the time and examine the relationship of the collection. 1982 ("DIVER DOWN" released on April 14th) July 14th - August 21st: North America #1 (26 performances) ←★here★ September 1st - 25th: North America #2 (17 performances) October 7th - December 11th: North America #3 (38 performances) ←TORONTO 1982 and others 1983 January 16th - February 12th: South America (15 performances) May 29th: US Festival Appearance This is VAN HALEN from 1982/1983. The soundboards that have been appearing almost every week recently have all been excavated from "North America #1". Now, let's focus on the dates and organize our collection. Details of "North America # 1" ・July 14th-23rd (7 performances) * July 24th "BILOXI 1982" ・ July 27th + 29th (2 performances * July 30th "LOUISVILLE 1982" * July 31st "FORT WAYNE 1982" * August 3rd: Rockford performance ←★This work★ ・ August 4th: Des Moines performance * August 6th "ST. LOUIS 1982" ・ August 7th-21st (11 performances) ... and so on. The Rockford performance of this work was the concert following "FORT WAYNE 1982 SOUNDBOARD", which is said to be the masterpiece (at the moment). Although this work is such a work, in fact, not only in position but also in content, "FORT WAYNE It's been called "second only to 1982." The biggest factor is the recording time. The person who recorded the series of soundboards, "Roy," usually uses 90-minute tapes, but there were only three shows recorded on 60-minute tapes. These were three consecutive performances: "LOUISVILLE 1982 SOUNDBOARD (Zodiac 781)," "FORT WAYNE 1982 SOUNDBOARD," and this one. Of these, "LOUISVILLE 1982" was quite short, using only one 60-minute tape, but "FORT WAYNE 1982" and this one were two 60-minute tapes. Thanks to this, while the other soundboards are roughly 94 minutes long, this one has a lengthy recording of 105 minutes and 18 seconds. Let's take a look at the number of songs that make the most of its length. Diver Down (8 songs), The Full Bug, Little Guitars, Where Have All The Good Times Gone!, Hang 'Em High / Cathedral / Secrets / Intruder / (Oh) Pretty Woman and others (11 songs) ・Fuse of Fire: Runnin' With The Devil / Jamie's Cryin' / Ice Cream Man (★) / You Really Got Me (incl. Happy Trails) ・Legendary Bomber: Dance The Night Away / Somebody Get Me A Doctor / D.O.A. (★★) / Bottoms Up! ・Others: Romeo Delight / Unchained / Everybody Wants Some!! *Note: Songs marked with a "★" are not available on the sister album "TORONTO 1982: SOUNDBOARD." In particular, songs marked with a "★★" are not available on the sister album "BILOXI 1982: SOUNDBOARD." Compared to "FORT WAYNE 1982," there is a lack of "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love," but on the other hand, a highlight that is not listed in the tracklist is "You Really Got Me". The intro features "Growth", a hidden track from "WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST". This short song was also used as the intro to "Bottoms Up!" in the latter half of the tour, but this was actually the first performance on this day. There had been no audience recordings of this song until now, so this is a historical fact that has only just been revealed through this album. In terms of performance, Eddie's riffs are unstable, which is unusual for him, and Dave makes a mistake with the synth on "Intruder", but that's also interesting. Above all, it's an extremely thick soundboard album that will imprint even the smallest of mistakes into your brain in detail. "FORT WAYNE While it hasn't yet surpassed the masterpiece "Fort Wayne 1982," this is a masterpiece that takes second place in this series of masterpieces. This is the first stereo soundboard recording of the "August 3, 1982 Rockford Performance." This is the latest in the popular soundboard excavation series, digitized from the original leaked master by the same people involved. This is the second-longest recording after the masterpiece "Fort Wayne 1982 Soundboard," and its ultra-thick quality is unmatched. The premiere of "Growth," featured in the intro to "You Really Got Me," is also a historic soundboard album. Rockford MetroCentre, Rockford, IL, USA, August 3, 1982, STEREO SBD. Disc: 1 (60:39): 1.
