"SUPER ROCK '85" is legendary for its lineup, venue, and harsh environment. We present a TV program from that time that reported on this festival. A total of six bands participated in this festival. This work is a 40-minute TV special that features four of them (DIO, ROUGH CUTT, MAMA'S BOYS, FOREIGNER). It was broadcast as part of a 24-hour charity program that has become a summer tradition, and was recorded by recording enthusiasts at the time. For a 1985 broadcast, you can witness the festival scene with great picture quality and sound. The program is structured to include 1-3 songs from each band's live performance, plus interviews (with Japanese subtitles). The best part is the heat of "1985" that blows out like a hot wind. The nostalgic commercial at the beginning tickles your heart, but then a female reporter appears and reports, "I'm in front of the special stage at Odaiba Sports Park facing Tokyo Bay!" The hairstyle, fashion, and the slightly lisp but smooth English tone... it's already the best of the 80s, and it has a strong commercial mood. Following this opening, DIO appears. Ronnie has visited Japan many times with RAINBOW and BLACK SABBATH, but this is DIO's first visit. This is the only live in Japan with "DIO with Vivian Campbell" ever. The live video is only slightly different from the official video in terms of the sound mix, but the decisive factor is Ronnie's interview inserted in the middle. You can see Ronnie speaking forcefully to the female reporter at the opening, "It's often said that rock and roll just party and make noise and do stupid things, but that's not true." Next up are ROUGH CUTT and MAMA'S BOYS. Each will have one song and an interview, but the point here is the sight itself. As mentioned in the main commentary, this festival had an unusual all-night structure, with the final act being the middle act. The order of performance was "EARTHSHAKER → STING → FOREIGNER → DIO → ROUGH CUTT → MAMAS BOYS". These two acts were in the final act, waiting for the first train after the main event. Therefore, the state of the venue as it began to light up was clear. FOREIGNER and DIO, which were officially released by the band alone, were in the dark, but here you can clearly see the size of the venue and even the scenery. The gap between the exhausted audience holding umbrellas and the band performing in front of them is vivid, and you can even see that the event itself was unreasonable. And the last act to appear is FOREIGNER. Three songs will be broadcast: "Long Long Way From Home", "Waiting For A Girl Like You", and "Reaction To Action". Here you can also see an interview with Mick Jones that was not included in the main program. Although the comments are not particularly interesting, it gives a glimpse into what kind of festival "SUPER ROCK '85" was and what the members were thinking when they were there. And the smell of the mid-1980s, when the charity boom was in full swing, is nostalgic and vivid. "SUPER ROCK '85" was legendary in every sense. This is a film that conveys the scenery and era that enveloped the entire festival, including interviews that could not be seen in the official products. A masterpiece broadcast that will captivate you with professional shots. Live in Odaiba, Tokyo, Japan 10th August 1985 PRO-SHOT DIO 1. Introduction 2. King Of Rock 'N' Roll 3. Interview with Dio 4.
