Ken Hensley, who was the most important member of the heroic URIAH HEEP, and John Lawton, a famous singer with great popularity and ability. The phantom video work created by the two of them is now fully digitalized for the first time. A monumental show featuring the complete rendition of the great song "Salisbury" co-starring an orchestra is now available in the ultimate DVD+CD version. The phantom out-of-print work is "SALISBURY: LIVE IN CONCERT." This is a 2-disc set that mainly features multi-camera professional shots of the "May 12, 2001 Hamburg performance" and comes with a bonus CD of a stereo sound board. Speaking of THE HENSLEY LAWTON BAND, it is often thought that the official live album “THE RETURN” is their only work, but “SALISBURY: LIVE IN CONCERT” is an official work that can be called a sequel and a video version. First, let's take a look back at the overall picture of the duo project that delighted URIAH HEEP fans around the world. May 6, 2000: London performance ←※THE RETURN April 3-6, 2001: UK (4 performances) ・April 19-May 12: Europe (7 performances)←★Here★ [Participated in THE MAGICIAN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY from December 6th to 8th] This is an overview of THE HENSLEY LAWTON BAND's activities. Although it was stated that "THE RETURN" would only be for one night, they held a small tour the following year in 2001. It is difficult to claim that the above is all-inclusive due to the limited amount of information available, but I think you can understand the general history. "THE MAGICIAN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY" will also feature a re-co-starring performance in the form of guest appearances by THE JOHN LAWTON BAND and the original URIAH HEEP, but the Hamburg performance of this work was half a year ago. It was the final day of the "European" tour, which was also the final day of the project itself. In this way, "THE RETURN" → "SALISBURY: LIVE IN CONCERT" → "THE MAGICIAN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY" can be called a trilogy, but for some reason only "SALISBURY: LIVE IN CONCERT" was available as "VHS + CD" at the time. It was released as a set and then immediately discontinued. It is a phantom work that has not been officially released on DVD until now. This work is a top-of-the-line press DVD + CD set that has been precisely digitized from the mint quality VHS (there are some scenes where the stereo effect is disturbed, but this seems to be from the original). This work is also known for its complex composition. First of all, there is a distinction between DVDs and CDs. Basically, the DVD is the main one, but the CD is not the soundtrack, but the encore part that was not included on the DVD. Therefore, there is no overlap between the DVD and CD. Another complicating point is that it also includes URIAH HEEP's cover band "EASY LIVIN'", which served as support on the day. Although it is not just an amateur band, it is a full-fledged band that also includes Henyo Richter of current GAMMA RAY, but it tends to cause confusion. Let's organize each song here. [EASY LIVIN' (9 songs + 2 CDs)・First: Gypsy・Salisbury: Time To Live/Bird Of Prey・Anti-self nuclear: Look At Yourself・Devil and Wizard: Traveler In Time/Easy Livin'/Circle Of Hands (Orchestra) co-star)・Demon Feast: Sweet Lorraine/Sunrise・Dream Theater: Something Or Nothing (CD)/So Tired (CD) [THE HENSLEY LAWTON BAND] Byron Era (5 songs + 2 CDs)・First: Gypsy・Salisbury: Salisbury ( ★: Orchestra co-star) / Lady In Black・Anti-Jikoku: July Morning・The devil and the wizard: Easy Livin'/The Wizard (CD)・The Devil's Feast: Rain (★:CD) Lawton era (4 songs + 3 CDs)・Firefly: The Hanging Tree (★) / Wise Man / Sympathy (★: CD) ・Innocent Sacrifice: The Dance (★) / Free 'n' Easy (CD) ・Fallen Angel: I'm Alive・FIVE MILES: Tonight (★: CD) Hensley's solo (2 songs)・A GLIMPSE OF GLORY: The Return・RUNNING BLIND: Prelude: A Minor Life (★) *Note: “★” indicates the live album “THE RETURN” Songs you can't listen to. ...and it looks like this. EASY LIVIN’ is also great, but THE HENSLEY LAWTON BAND is the one that is getting a lot of attention. The repertoire that could not be heard in "THE RETURN" is 8 songs, and there are a lot of must-hear songs. "Rain", whose romantic singing voice surpassed Byron's, "The Dance", which was not performed by Heap in the 1970s, "Sympathy", a treasure from the Lawton era, etc. "Tonight" may not be a familiar song name, but this song was supposed to be included in "FIVE MILES", the fourth album of the Lawton era that ended in illusion. It was also re-recorded in Lawton's solo work "STILL PAYIN' MY DUES...", but here you can enjoy it with Hensley as it should be. And above all, the biggest point is "Salisbury", a great song woven together with an orchestra! You can listen to rare songs that were only performed at the time at the original URIAH HEEP in their original format with an orchestra. Moreover, with Lawton's singing voice!!! In fact, his legendary vocalization is also exquisite in this work. His beautiful voice, which was ranked alongside Ronnie James Dio at the time, has not diminished in the slightest, and he continues to color URIAH HEEP's rare masterpieces in a heroic and dramatic manner. The beauty of this is that it is truly the dream of British HR. I think there are many British HR rock fans who wanted Lawton to sing in RAINBOW or BLACK SABBATH, and this work's "Salisbury" is also a take on that dream becoming a reality. More than just a masterpiece by URIAH HEEP, it is a miraculous moment in time when a masterpiece in British rock history evolved. Hero URIAH HEEP's key players: Ken Hensley & John Lawton. This is a luxurious set of professional shots and soundboards that allows you to experience the "dream night" where the two had a miraculous encounter and revived a group of fantastic hard rock masterpieces. A phantom masterpiece that cannot be expected to be made into an official DVD. Hamburger Hafen, Hamburg, Germany 12th May 2001 PRO-SHOT DVD(137:42) Easy Livin' (The Cover Of Uriah Heep) 1. Intro 2.
