ULTRAVOX made its legendary first visit to Japan in 1982. An original recording that conveys the scene is now available. What is recorded in this work is the “February 24, 1982: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall” performance. This is the best audience recording. At our store, the album "NAGOYA 1982: FIRST LIVE IN JAPAN", which is the first time they met in Japan, is also a standard, but of course this work is a separate performance. First of all, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule at that time.・February 21st “NAGOYA 1982: FIRST LIVE IN JAPAN” ・February 22nd: Osaka Festival Hall ・February 23rd: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall ・February 24th: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall ←★This work★・2 March 25th: Nakano Sunplaza, 5 performances in total. The itinerary was to visit three cities in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, but more than half of them were in Tokyo. This work is a live album that records the middle days of Tokyo 3 DAYS. This work that recorded such a show is truly the best audience recording. The most wonderful thing is the strong and active core. In any case, there is no sense of distance. The bass, which tends to be either sparse or explosive in audience recordings, is glossy and has plenty of density. Since it is an original master given directly by the recording artist himself, it is definitely an audience recording, but if you didn't know anything about it, you would definitely think, "Was there any FM broadcasting?" However, there is a sense of instability as the microphone shakes a bit, so I can tell that it is probably the audience, but it is a great soundboard-like recording. What is depicted with such a sound is the concentrated reduction of the two great albums “VIENNA” and “RAGE IN EDEN”. Speaking of 1982, it was also the year that "QUARTET" was released, but their first visit to Japan was eight months before that. Now let's organize the set. VIENNA (7 songs)・Private Lives/Mr. /Accent On Youth/The Ascent/Your Name (Has Slipped My Mind Again)/The Voice Others (1 song)・Passionate Reply...and so on. All songs from "VIENNA" except "Astradyne" and "Western Promise" and "RAGE IN EDEN" except "Rage in Eden" and "Stranger Within" were performed, and "Passionate Reply", which was the B-side of the single, was performed. It was configured with the addition of. That set alone is special, but the breath of the audience who witnessed it is a document. As I mentioned earlier, there is an unnatural silence during the performance, but there are applause between the big songs. It's also very orderly and has a lot of the feel of the 80's Western music boom. The yellow chirping voices fly, and the voices calling the members' names, ``Midge!'', line up so perfectly that you can almost hear ``Seino!''. The last part is even more interesting. The final performance announcements echoed in the venue where ``The Voice'' came to a close, including ``It was better than yesterday'', ``What is this!?'', ``What if yesterday's performance was ``3''? I can hear voices exchanging their thoughts, such as, ``You can give me a 3+ today.'' ULTRAVOX made a spectacular debut in Japan as the standard-bearers of the New Romantic movement. It is a masterpiece of a live album where you can enjoy the full show with the best sound on the sound board. A piece that approaches with freshness that can only be achieved by the Omoto master. Live at Koseinenkin Kaikan, Tokyo, Japan 24th February 1982 PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) (79:20) 1. The Thin Wall 2. Private Lives 3. We Stand Alone 4. I Remember 5. Mr.X 6.
