In 1984, ULTRAVOX was about to reach a major milestone with the release of the final album "LAMENT" by the "Golden Four." A legendary soundboard album that conveys such an era has been decided to be released. Such a legendary record was recorded at “London performance on June 7, 1984”. This is a stereo soundboard recording recorded at the traditional venue "Hammersmith Odeon". After releasing "LAMENT", they toured throughout 1984, and in 1985, as Midge Ure began her solo career, their only stage performance was "LIVE AID." After that, Warren Kang left the group and one corner of the Golden Quartet fell apart. First of all, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule at that time. [LAMENT released on April 6th] April 25th - May 13th: Europe #1 (16 performances) May 16th - June 10th: UK (23 performances) ←★Here★・7 September 19th: San Francisco performance September 7th-27th: Europe #2 (9 performances) This is ULTRAVOX in 1984. The tour will begin immediately after the release of "LAMENT", but there will only be one performance in North America. The trip ended after two laps around Europe. The Hammersmith performance of this work was the 20th concert of the core “British” tour. This work, which records such a show, is the finest soundboard of the mix table. It is an original master written as "MIXING DESK", and it is a legendary sound board that first appeared on the Ayanami label as "ONE SMALL DAY IN LONDON" and quickly became a super masterpiece representing 1984. Although it became a hot topic due to its greatness, it has since become a standard. Copy Boot has been released under the name "FM sound source", but this work is the origin of it. It has become such a legend that its quality is tremendous. It's a little rough because it's directly connected to the mix table, but that's why the exposed core penetrates deeply into your brain, and every detail is extremely clear. Although it is different from the sense of being at a live venue, the sense of synchronization and realism with the performance itself is overwhelming. It is truly an “official replacement piece” that conveys the stage of the “LAMENT” era, but what is depicted with that sound is a show that concentrates and reduces famous songs of the golden age. Let's organize the contents here. VIENNA (5 songs)・Passing Strangers/New Europeans/Western Promise/Vienna/All Stood Still RAGE IN EDEN (2 songs)・We Stand Alone/I Remember (Death in the Afternoon) QUARTET (4 songs)・Visions In Blue/ Reap The Wild Wind/We Came To Dance/Hymn LAMENT (4 songs), Man Of Two World/Heart Of The Country/White China/One Small Day...and so on. Although only "RAGE IN EDEN" is a little diluted, famous songs are evenly selected from the four albums released since Midge joined. Speaking of 1984, the best-of album “THE COLLECTION” which was a big hit was also released, but this work also plays a large amount of single hits, but it never ends there. Representative songs such as “We Stand Alone,” “I Remember (Death in the Afternoon),” and “New Europeans (single cut was only available in Japan),” which are loved even if they are not related to the charts, were well-represented, and moreover, as a single show. It also has a nice flow. It is truly a condensed piece of their golden age. The hometown performance in London during the "VIENNA" era became "BBC RADIO 1 LIVE IN CONCERT 1981", and London during the "QUARTET" era was left in "MONUMENT". This work is the definitive live album that can be called the “LAMENT” edition that follows. A legendary stereo soundboard album that is truly a quasi-official work.
