Bono and The Edge visited war-torn Kyiv (Kiev) and performed a live concert at a subway station. This is a superb video that allows you to witness a special performance that went beyond the boundaries of the music scene and was watched by the whole world. This work was filmed at Khreschatyk Station on May 8, 2022. This is a multi-camera professional shot. Ukraine successfully defended its capital, Kyiv, and it has now become a place where dignitaries from all over the world visit. Bono and The Edge also responded to President Zelensky's call to deliver music to the area. The site chosen was the Kyiv subway station, which was also used as an air raid shelter. The footage was broadcast as global news rather than a music program. This work is a definitive compilation of 10 types of professional shot footage over a period of about 68 minutes. The contents are roughly divided into three sections, so let's introduce each one individually. Live Special (about 42 minutes) The first thing that appears is a special feature on the live performance inside the station, which is the main focus of this work. This was broadcast on local TV in Ukraine, and the content is entirely focused on music. It can be enjoyed as a normal live multi-camera pro shot. However, it is highly likely that the order and content of the songs are not exactly the same as they were on-site. At present, the information is still confusing, so it is difficult to say for sure, but it seems that nine songs were performed on the day. The eight songs broadcast were those other than "Pride (In the Name of Love)", and this work follows that. The performance was backed by The Edge's acoustic guitar, and Bono sang his masterpieces. "With or Without You" was performed in acoustic version for the first time that day, and "Walk On" is sung with the lyrics of a special version (described below) that wishes solidarity with Ukraine. The highlight of the show is the last song, "Stand by Me". It goes without saying that it is a cover of Ben E. King's famous song, but here the lyrics are changed from "stand by me" to "stand by Ukraine". And what's more, there is a guest co-starring. A Ukrainian soldier appears and sings a duet with Bono. And this soldier is so good. He takes the lead role, even surpassing Bono. That's because the soldier's main job is actually a musician. He is Taras Topolia, the singer of the Ukrainian rock band ANTYTILA. Taras has connections with Ed Sheeran, and their joint version of "2step" became a worldwide topic. ANTYTILA itself is a Ukrainian national band, and such a local hero stands alongside the world-famous U2. For us, it's scary to see such a talented singer fighting in a military uniform, and for the local people, it's a dream collaboration that encourages their connection with the world. Special performance of "Walk On" (about 4 minutes) Next is a live clip of "Walk On". This is the version released on April 9th to appeal for the regiment to Ukraine. As with the main live version, it is an acoustic performance by Bono and The Edge, and the lyrics have been changed. News/Documentary (8 types, about 22 minutes) The last section is TV news and documentary footage reporting on Bono & The Edge's visit. Five news programs from various countries reporting on the subway live itself, and three documentaries capturing the two inspecting the cityscape destroyed by the Russian army are included. Each is valuable, but the most delicious is "The Guardian". It has Japanese subtitles, and the content of Bono's speech during the live can be vividly understood with Japanese subtitles. Last year, many live performances without an audience were delivered to endure the COVID-19 pandemic, but in 2022, the invasion of Ukraine became a symbol of the era. This work is a simply excellent live pro shot, but more than that, it is also the first step in the music scene's reaction to the era of 2022. In 2022, the proposition "Can music change the world?", which should have been a thing of the past, has come back to life. This work is a must-experience for everyone who lives in this moment and continues to love music. This is the definitive release of an acoustic live performance held in a Kyiv subway station. It includes the full recording of the local TV special, as well as a special live PV for "Walk On" and related footage from news and documentaries from around the world.
