In 2017, U2 thrilled the world with a tour recreating the masterpiece "JOSHUA TREE" to mark the 30th anniversary of the album. Now, here comes a Matrix album that will inject that "live version of JOSHUA TREE" into your brain. This work was recorded at the "October 19, 2017 Sao Paulo performance." It is a matrix sound source of that IEM + superb audience. The "JOSHUA TREE Tour" continued until 2019, and is also memorable for its performance in Japan. However, there were some irregularities, such as the "EXPERIENCE + INNOCENCE Tour" being mixed in along the way. First, let's take a bird's-eye view of the band's activities at the time and examine this album's position. 2017 "JOSHUA TREE Tour 2017" ・May 12th - July 1st: North America #1 (21 shows) ← *CHICAGO 2017 etc. ・July 8th - August 1st: Europe (12 shows) ← *TWICKENHAM STADIUM 2017 etc. ・September 3rd - October 4th: North America #2 (10 shows) ・October 7th - 25th: South America (8 shows) ←★Click here★ 2018 "EXPERIENCE + INNOCENCE Tour" ・May 2nd - November 13th (60 shows) 2019 "JOSHUA TREE Tour 2019" ・November 8th - 27th: Oceania (8 shows) ←*MELBOURNE November 30th + December 1st, 2019: Singapore (2 shows); December 4th + 5th: Japan (2 shows); SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2019 and others; December 8th-15th: Asia (3 shows). This is U2's latest matrix album featuring the finest IEMs from 2017 to 2019. The highlight of the "South American" leg was four consecutive shows in Sao Paulo, and this was the first day of that. The similarly titled "SAO PAULO 2017 FINAL NIGHT" is also a classic, but this work was released six days before that (3 shows before). This work, which conveys such a show, is a new masterpiece boasting a fiercely direct feel. Although it is a matrix with audience recording, the main focus is clearly the IEM sound source, and the feeling of both the performance sound and vocals being blown out in their raw form is a completely direct-to-desk soundboard. To be honest, while the person who released it claims it's "Matrix," it's hard to understand the audience element just by listening. On the other hand, it's a bit different from FM broadcasts or official sound. The vocals are well-balanced, and counting voices are recorded at the beginning of each song (there are no clicks). While it can't be touted as "fully official," the rawness and otherworldly sense of synchronization are incredible. The crisp, uncharacteristic stability of an IEM is impressive, and for the jaded soundboard enthusiast, this sound is perhaps even more delicious than a regular official live album. A full live album that pours a masterpiece live performance into your brain. The ultra-direct sound of this authentic recording depicts a full show worthy of being called a "live performance version of JOSHUA TREE." It's been a while since we last reported on the "JOSHUA TREE Tour 2017/2019," so let's summarize the set here. Opening (4 songs): WAR: Sunday Bloody Sunday/New Year's Day; Flame: Bad/Pride (In The Name Of Love); Joshua Tree (11 songs in total): Where The Streets Have No Name/I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For/With Or Without You/Bullet The Blue Sky/Running To Stand Still/Red Hill Mining Town/In God's Country/Trip Through Your Wires/One Tree Hill/Exit/Mothers Of The Disappeared; Encore (6 songs): All That You Can't Leave Behind: Beautiful Day/Elevation; Others: Vertigo/You're The Best Thing About Me; Achtung Baby: Ultraviolet (Light My Way)/One...and so on. The set kicked off with a digest of the road to "JOSHUA TREE" with tracks like "WAR" and "THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE," delivering a complete album rendition. The encore then shifted to the usual style, incorporating more recent tracks for a grand finale. The "introduction" and "encore" sections varied from performance to performance, and on this day, the rare track "You're the Best Thing About Me" was performed, making it feel similar to the second day of their Japan tour. The "JOSHUA TREE Tour 2017/2019" celebrated the 30th anniversary of the legendary album that sang the acclaim of the world. This is a matrix album that will infuse your brain with an album rendition that wasn't even possible back in 1987. This is a matrix sound source from the "October 19, 2017 Sao Paulo performance" featuring IEMs and a superb audience. The IEM sound source is clearly the focal point, with the raw, raw sound and vocals coming out perfectly, like a direct-to-desktop soundboard. It's a balance that brings the vocals forward, but the sense of stability that is unusual for an IEM is wonderful, and the vividness and other-dimensional synchronization that are impossible with official products are tremendous. "JOSHUA TREE" is a pleasure album that will pour a perfect live reproduction into your brain. Morumbi, Sao Paulo, Brazil 19th October 2017 Disc:1 (59:39) 1. Sunday Bloody Sunday 2. New Year's Day 3.
