U2 took flight around the world with their debut album "BOY". Here is a soundboard album that lets you experience the best of the early stage. This work is engraved with the "February 12, 1981 Den Haag performance (Netherlands)". It is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of 1981, it was the time when "BOY Tour" and "OCTOBER Tour" intersected, and this work is the former. It's a good opportunity, so let's first take a bird's-eye view of the activity overview and imagine the position of the show. 1980 January 5th + 11th: Ireland (2 shows) February 1st - March 19th: UK #1 (20 shows) May 9th - June 8th: UK #2 (23 shows) May 16th: Single "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" released July 10th - 28th: UK #3 (7 shows) September 1st - December 3rd: Europe #1 (59 shows) ← ※ KRO STUDIO, HILVERSUM 1980 October 20th "BOY" released December 6th - 15th: North America #1 (24 shows) December 17th - 22nd: Ireland (5 shows) 1981 January 23rd - February 21st: Europe #2 (22 shows) ← ★ This work ★ March 3rd - May 31st: North America #2 (57 shows) ← ※ BAYOU CLUB June 4-9, 1981: Europe #3 (4 performances) {"OCTOBER" completed in August}This is the journey from 1980 to the production of "OCTOBER". For convenience, the above "UK" also includes some performances in Ireland. Their live activities are said to have begun in 1976, but they did not enter the UK in earnest until 1979. Their initial singles/EPs were only in Ireland. After that, they made their record debut worldwide with the single "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" and the album "BOY". From there, the world spread all at once, with "Europe #1" in continental Europe and "North America #1" in the Americas. There are also several soundboard recordings from the "BOY Tour", and three titles, "KRO STUDIO, HILVERSUM 1980" and "BAYOU CLUB 1981", will be released simultaneously with this work as the axis. Now, this work is the core of such an early soundboard collection. This is a soundboard album that conveys the 15th performance of "Europe #2". The reason why this work is the core is that it covers both the quality and the number of songs. First of all, the quality is already "completely official grade" without question. This show is also known for being broadcast on TV / radio, but this work is an FM broadcast sound board. The cheers and mix are vivid, and even though it is an official grade, it is an "excavation sound source type" ..., but when the performance starts, the performance sound and vocals are beautiful, and the balance of each instrument is also well-balanced. It is not a sloppy broadcast that is common in the early days, but a dignified sound that the station staff did a good job. And what cannot be overlooked is the freshness of the master. Those who have experienced the sound board of the Den Haag performance in the past may be thinking "Is that the official grade?" If so, the freshness is completely different from this work. Recently, our shop has introduced the highest peak master of the "WAR Tour" sound board under the supervision of overseas researchers, but this work is also the "BOY Tour" edition by the same researcher. Its freshness, anti-vibrancy, and beauty without distortion or roughness. To be honest, in the case of sound sources where the best class masters are already well known, even the researcher-recommended masters may say "Yeah, certainly... a little good", but this work is different. It is a different sound of the level of "Is it really the same sound source!?" Next, the number of songs and volume. The details of "KRO STUDIO, HILVERSUM 1980" and "BAYOU CLUB 1981" will be explained in their respective explanations, but both are just over 40 minutes. In contrast, this work is a long recording of about 53 minutes. Of course, the show will be "live performance version BOY + α". Here, let's organize the set while comparing it with the standard sound boards of the next "OCTOBER Tour". Boy: The Ocean, An Cat Dubh, Into the Heart, Another Time, Another Place, The Cry-The Electric Co., Stories For Boys (★), Twilight, I Will Follow, Out of Control Singles: 11 O'clock Tick Tock, Touch (★), Things To Make And Do (★) *Note: Songs that cannot be heard on "OCTOBER Tour" "HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM 1981" and "MALIBU NIGHT CLUB, LIDO BEACH 1981". ...And so it goes. Nine of the 11 songs on "BOY" are played on a grand scale, and early repertoires such as "Another Time, Another Place" and "Stories For Boys" are played one after another. And even more precious single songs are scattered throughout. Of course, the world debut single "11 O'clock Tick Tock" was also performed, as well as its B-side "Touch" and "Things To Make And Do", which was the B-side of the single "A Day Without Me". Because the repertoire was still insufficient, you can enjoy the super rare songs on the official sound board. The sound board of the Den Haag performance, which has reigned as a symbol of the "BOY Tour". This is the highest quality version. This is the most important work of early U2, comparable to "BOY" itself. A stereo sound board recording of the "Den Hague performance on February 12, 1981", shortly after their debut. This is the highest peak update of the FM broadcast sound board representing the "BOY Tour". The master carefully selected by overseas U2 researchers is of the completely official class, and you can enjoy a show full of rare songs unique to the early days, such as "Another Time, Another Place", "Stories For Boys", "Touch", and "Things To Make And Do". This is an absolute work that is comparable to "BOY" itself. Paard Van Troje, Den Haag, Netherlands 12th February 1981 STEREO SBD(UPGRADE) (52:38) 01. DJ Intro 02.
