This work was recorded on October 14, 1980 in Hilversum. It is a soundboard recording taken at the Dutch public broadcasting station "KRO". This stage is the 30th performance of "Europe #1" in the main commentary, but it was not a regular concert but a studio live for broadcast. More importantly, it was the first continental live. U2's live activities started in 1976, but until then, they were only in their home country of Ireland or the UK. However, with the release of "BOY", they began to expand into the world. One week before the album's release, they crossed the strait and took the first step in their invasion of the continent, recording a radio show in Hilversum...in other words, this is this work. This work, which conveys that historic program, is a masterpiece that breaks the previous record. There are also previously released recordings, but this is the best master carefully selected by researchers. The sound is called "official class" and cannot be replaced. It is a mix where the live performance is unprocessed and exposed, and strictly speaking, there are a few very slight twists. Therefore, it is difficult to call it "complete" official grade, but that is only if you listen to it microscopically with headphones. It is not much different from the official work in terms of listening and enjoying it, and in fact this is not uncommon for recent excavation official works. Such an excellent sound unfolds the first flapping of wings to run around the world. The set is different from the main press CD, so let's organize it by comparing. Boy (8 songs) I Will Follow / An Cat Dubh / Into the Heart / A Day Without Me (★) / Twilight / The Electric Co. / Stories For Boys / Out of Control Others (3 songs) Touch / Boy / Girl (★) / 11 O'clock Tick Tock * Note: The "★" mark is a song that cannot be heard in "DEN HAAG 1981". ... and so on. Although the sense of balance centered on "BOY" is the same as the main press CD, "A Day Without Me" which cannot be heard there is also performed, and even "Boy/Girl" from "THREE", which was limited to Ireland, can be enjoyed on the sound board. And the performance that spells out such a set is a must-listen. Bono's singing voice, which is tense and stiff, and shouts with all his might to shake it off, is also fresh. The narration between songs is also full of sadness, and before "Twilight", he introduces it as "a song from the album "BOY" to be released next week". Not only rare songs, but also familiar repertoires sound completely different. U2 were truly "young budding". It is a valuable sound board album where even their breathing is poured into the brain. Although it does not reach the quality / number of songs, it is a masterpiece that even surpasses the fresh dawn. The highest peak version of such a valuable live album.
