The rock world is abuzz with the "THE JOSHUA TREE TOUR 2017", which has finally landed in Europe! This week, two of the best live albums will be released at the same time. This work includes the "London performance on July 8th and 9th, 2017". It is a four-disc set that includes audience recordings of two performances by the same recorder. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the historic phenomenon "THE JOSHUA TREE", this tour has been showcasing album reproduction shows with amazing technology. Our shop has reported in real time on numerous live albums. However, all of them have been North American performances so far. Since last week, the tour of the century has moved to Europe. First of all, let's imagine the position from the tour schedule that has been announced so far.・May 12-26: North America #1 (7 performances) ・June 3-July 1: North America #2 (14 performances) ・July 8-August 1: Europe (12 performances) ←★Here★ ・September 3-22: North America #3 (9 performances) ・October 3-22: South America (9 performances) [High quality & huge spectacular sound] A total of 51 performances. The London performance of this work is the first and second day of the "Europe" concert. The quality is a truly spectacular audience sound. The "Twickenham Stadium" where the event took place is a rugby stadium in the suburbs of London, but its scale is a whopping 82,000 people. The super-huge sense of scale goes back and forth. If you write it like this, you may get the impression that the Tokyo Dome recording is even bigger, but that is partly correct and partly misunderstood. First of all, the bone-like feeling of the performance / singing voice is amazing. Unlike the Tokyo Dome, the ceiling is a spacious open type, so there is less reverberation. It is not possible to have a "zero sense of distance", but the details of the performance are delivered crisply without being muddy. On the other hand, with an open type, the bass can be weak, but there is no need to worry about that with this work. The bass of this work is extremely rich and lustrous. While firmly capturing each and every note of the bass, you can also feel the delicate vibes that shake the floor of the huge stadium. It also absorbs plenty of fine-grained bass that is powerful but never frightening. Moreover, this high-quality sound permeates the entire four-disc set of two performances. The recorder himself seems to prefer the second day "July 9th (Disc 3-4)", but why is the first day not losing at all? Of course, the positions and the settings that come with it are different, so the nuances are not the same, but the sense of unity of "same venue, same recorder, same equipment" is more than enough. The feeling that I thought "I can do it!" when I first listened to it remained unwavering for 4 hours and 32 minutes. Such a robust musical sound is wrapped in a huge chorus of over 80,000 people. Not only the "THE JOSHUA TREE" part of the main story, but also the prelude "Sunday Bloody Sunday", "New Year's Day", and "Bad" are thick and the perspective is also vast, and the chorus spreads endlessly. U2 shows are very popular and welcomed all over the world, but the penetration of songs in the UK is different. The lyrics are not just half-hearted, but are sung to a level that has permeated life. Despite such a large chorus, it is amazing because it is not difficult to listen to. In addition to the extremely thick musical sound that is comparable to 80,000 people, everyone is concentrating on the music and melody. Even the huge spectacle has become "live performance art". [The show of the century where you can also enjoy a collaboration with Noel] Such a sound depicts the show of the century that landed in the UK. The set is roughly the same as the North American leg, but it is also changing little by little. Compared to the beginning of the tour, "A Sort Of Homecoming" in the first half was dropped, but "Vertigo" appeared in the second half. "Mysterious Ways" was also played on the second day. Even more special than that was "Don't Look Back In Anger" which was played at the end of the first day! Of course, it's an OASIS song, but here Noel Gallagher himself appears. He was the opening act for NOEL GALLAGHER'S HIGH FLYING BIRDS, but here he and Bono performed a duet with microphones side by side. Noel never hides his admiration for U2, but this beautiful collaboration responds to that respect. Although he has performed with U2 before, this is the first time he has covered this song. Of course, the audience also gets very excited and sings away. This is definitely a highlight of this work. Each of the tours of the century "THE JOSHUA TREE TOUR 2017" is full of special brilliance, but this work is a rare beautiful chorus spectacle. On top of that, it's a "special work" where you can even enjoy a collaboration with Noel. A four-disc set with plenty of flavor beyond just the latest show.
