A new masterpiece representing the "ZOO TV Tour" is born, a masterpiece of legendary master Mike Millard's later years. This work includes “San Diego performance on April 15, 1992”. It is a transcendental audience recording. Speaking of “ZOO TV Tour”, the official video work “ZOO TV: LIVE FROM SYDNEY” was also left behind, and Millard’s masterpiece “LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT”, which received great acclaim last year, is still fresh in my memory. In order to understand the distance between them, let's first look back at the whole world tour. 1992 February 29th - April 23rd: North America #1 (32 performances) ←★Here★ May 7th - June 19th: Europe #1 (25 performances) August 7th - November 25th: North America #2 (47 performances) 1993, May 9th - July 3rd: Europe #2a (20 performances) [ZOOROPA released on July 5th], July 6th - August 28th : Europe #2b (23 performances) November 12th - December 10th: Oceania/Japan (10 performances) ← *Official video This is U2 in 1992/1993. The performance in Japan and the official video were in the final stage at the end of 1993, but on the contrary, the San Diego performance of this work was "North America #1" in the beginning. It was the 27th performance, and it was also a concert three days after Millard's previous work "LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT". The show position is very similar to the previous work, but the sound is not. “LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT” also had a beautiful sound unique to Millard, but compared to his standards, a big yellow cheer was picked up and the performance sound was a little wild. However, U2's sound is known to be difficult to record, so considering that, it felt like an exceptional performance. However, this work has a superb sound that does not require such "common knowledge of recording". The edges are so sharp that it's hard to believe that this is a U2 recording with a default bokeh, and there is no sense of distance to the powerful and dense core. Although the applause is as loud as ever, it is captured much further away than “LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT” and does not intersect with the solid performance sound. In other words, it is a “usual mirrored recording”, but at the same time it also means high sound quality that approaches the limits of audience recording. Even U2, who makes Taper cry, has achieved this! It is a new master that once again reminds us of the greatness of the legendary master, but in fact, it does not end there, and further miracles and misfortunes occur at the recording site. First, those who are "unhappy". The reason for this is completely unknown, but in fact, mirrored recording ended midway. Specifically, the recording was paused at the last song of the main set, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," and the encore was recorded without being restarted (even though there should have been enough tape remaining). It wasn't. Normally I wouldn't be surprised, but to think that Millard, a legend among legends, would commit such a careless mistake... And, the existence of another recording is a “further miracle” that offsets such misfortune. There is one more superb recording that rivals Millard's masterpiece, and it supplements the encore part that Millard was unable to record. The sound is truly superb. I can't say it's "beyond Millard!" because the cheering is more noticeable than the main mirrored recording, but it never loses in its direct feeling and beauty. That's no wonder, this separate recording was made by the master "KeithM" who is said to be in San Diego. He is known for various recordings, but in terms of U2, you may be familiar with ``LOS ANGELES 1987 3RD NIGHT (Uxbridge 786)'', which also features Bob Dylan. Because it is a top-class masterpiece in the master collection, it was able to withstand the complementation of mirrored recordings. The result of such a miracle is a full show that is different from “ZOO TV: LIVE FROM SYDNEY” and the previous work “LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT”. In order to explain its meaning, let's organize the sets while comparing them. First half (DISC 1) Acton Baby: Zoo Station / The Fly / Even Better Than The Real Thing / Mysterious Ways / One / Until The End Of The World / Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses (★) / Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World Second Half/Encore (DISC 2)・?: Bad (★)/Pride (In The Name Of Love)・Joshua Tree: Bullet The Blue Sky/Running To Stand Still/Where The Streets Have No Name/I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (★)/With Or Without You・Scream of the Soul: Angel Of Harlem/Van Diemen's Land (★★)・Acton Baby: Love Is Blindness・Cover: Dancing Queen (★ ★: ABBA)/Satellite Of Love (Lou Reed) *Note: Songs marked with a “★” cannot be heard on “ZOO TV: LIVE FROM SYDNEY”. In particular, the songs marked with "★★" cannot be heard even in Millard's previous work "LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT". ...and it looks like this. “ZOO TV Tour” will play plenty of new songs from “ACHTUNG BABY” in the first half of the show, but in this work, that part is placed on DISC 1, and the subsequent parts are placed on DISC 2. Most of the songs are similar to ``LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT,'' but the most notable songs are ``Van Diemen's Land'' and ``Dancing Queen.'' Both are rare songs that have not been performed more than 40 times, especially the acoustic section's "Dancing Queen", which is an ABBA cover and is a valuable repertoire that was only sung at a limited number of venues even on the "ZOO TV Tour". It is said that Millard was already mentally unstable at the time, and the number of recordings he made was drastically reduced. Among them, U2 was a band that stirred passion for Millard, so much so that he recorded two performances in just a few days. A full show of the heyday “ZOO TV Tour” captured with the best sound of such a legendary master. Superb audience recording of “April 15, 1992 San Diego Performance”. This is one of the best products that was digitized directly from the original master of the absolute master Mike Millard, and the sound is the best with "super". Even compared to the same Millard work ``LOS ANGELES 1992 1ST NIGHT'', it is clearly beautiful, with a strong, thick core with no sense of distance, and sharp and dignified edges. Unfortunately, the encore was not recorded, but it was supplemented with a separate recording by San Diego's master taper "Keith M". This is a new masterpiece of a full live album where you can also enjoy the precious "Van Diemen's Land" and "Dancing Queen."
