This is a rare live recording from the early days of the original four-piece band, U.K., where both John Wetton and Allan Holdsworth have passed away. This is a complete recording of the Newcastle City Hall performance on May 4th, 1978, from their first UK tour, three weeks after the album's release, from a recently unearthed audience master cassette. Although there is a slight hiss noise due to the analog source, the pitch is normalized, and the quality and realism of the sound are of the highest possible quality for that time. This is also the oldest live recording of the four of them in existence, and compared to the live recordings from the US tour that followed, recordings from this UK tour are quite limited, making it extremely rare. And because it was the early days of the live performance, the performance and set list were still incomplete, and songs other than those included in the album were also included in the set. The last instrumental numbers, "The Sahara Of Snow" and "Forever Until Sunday", were later included in Bruford's "ONE OF A KIND", and "The Only Thing She Needs" and "Carrying No Cross" were shown as new songs to be included in the second album "DANGER MONEY". In terms of play, "The Sahara Of Snow" and "Carrying No Cross", where Bruford and Wetton's rhythm section are intense, are aggressive performances reminiscent of late Crimson, and of course Holdsworth is actively involved, and the solo on "The Only Thing She Needs", whose arrangement is still incomplete, and the fact that everyone takes turns soloing in the second half are unique to this period.
