From the US tour accompanying the first album of the legendary prog rock unit "U.K.", Chicago recorded the Riviera Theater performance on July 20th with an official stereo soundboard recording lasting approximately 51 minutes. We are entering the fourth week of the tour, and the band's combination has become very good, allowing us to enjoy a tight, confident, and ideal ensemble with high-quality sound. Although the opening songs Alaska and Time To Kill have not yet been recorded, this is the definitive version that has clearly higher sound quality than the already released version "Riviera" that includes this performance, and also includes the previously unreleased encore song Caesar's Palace Blues. All instruments and vocals are recorded with ideal sound pressure and balance, making it very impressive. The keyboard sound of the main riff behind the vocals at the 3 minute mark of The Only Thing She Needs is at a level I've never heard before. I don't think there's a progressive rock fan who isn't moved by the dramatic and spacey excitement of Carrying No Cross. The highlight is Thirty Years, where Wetton raises his vocals even louder than usual at the 7 minute mark, and the band responds with an unusually passionate and energetic response, which is truly a masterpiece.
