"PLANET EARTH TOUR 1990" was a standout in the history of TOTO. The only Afkan member, Jean-Michel Byron, is the front man in this superb video set. This work includes the "Oldenburg performance on December 7th and 8th, 1990". This is a two-disc set with two performances in Germany shortly after the unification of East and West, one on each disc. This tour is also recorded in the official video "GREATEST HITS LIVE... AND MORE". First of all, let's check the show's position in the overall tour, including that. "PAST TO PRESENT" released on May 6th September 18th-October 9th: Europe #1 (16 performances) ←※Official October 23rd-November 1st: Japan (6 performances) November 3rd-16th: North America (3 performances) November 30th-December 18th: Europe #2 (15 performances) ★Here★ This is the outline of "PLANET EARTH TOUR". The official video was the Paris performance of "Europe #1" at the beginning of the tour, but the Oldenburg performance of this work is the final stage of the tour. "Europe #2" is the 7th-8th concert. This work, which recorded such a show, is an extremely wonderful audience shot for both performances. Let's introduce each one in detail. [Disc 1: First day of Oldenburg (December 7th)] First appears on the first day of two consecutive performances at the same venue. There are six performances on the German tour, and this is the second performance. The biggest point of this video is the beauty of the video, which is the ultimate. It seems to be an audience shot taken from the back seats of the arena on the first floor, but it is incredibly wonderful. When it comes to arena photography, it is common to have a shot that sews through the gaps between the arms and heads of the front row, but this work is different. Perhaps the feet are one level higher, so look directly at the stage over the heads of the arena customers. There are almost no obstructions in the field of vision, and it is a special seat viewpoint where only the stage pops into the screen. Furthermore, the camera work is also wonderful. There is no zero camera shake, so I understand that a tripod is not used, but still, the highlights are captured in the center of the screen while zooming in, and there is a sense of calm and stability. And yet, instead of sticking to direct shooting, there are plenty of screenshots to enjoy. It is clear that the photographer is terribly used to concerts. Furthermore, the sound is clear and fits perfectly with the refreshing screen. The sound is strong and vivid to the details, and the venue sound that is slightly wrapped makes the sound even more beautiful. The show drawn with that quality is also valuable. As mentioned above, this tour includes "GREATEST HITS LIVE... AND MORE", but the set has changed due to the number of performances. You can enjoy "Girl Goodbye", "Stop Loving You", "Out Of Love" and "Red House" that were not seen in the official video. In particular, the three songs other than "Red House" are rare versions sung by Byron. [Disc 2: Oldenburg Day 2 (December 8)] Disc 2 is the second day of the same venue. The video quality, which is probably shot by the same person, is very similar to Disc 1, but the difference is the sound. In fact, this sound is synchronized with the sound board of the FM broadcast (only the encore "Hold The Line" is an audience recording, but this is also superb). Moreover, the quality is overwhelming! It is not just a sound board sound, but the mix is precise, the sound is beautiful, and the sound processing such as echo is perfect. It is a super beautiful sound like an official live album. In fact, the sound that drowned out the breath of the audience feels a little unnatural because there is no sense of realism, but the super-class sound board is still delicious. As mentioned in Disc 1, this photographer is a terribly experienced hand, and the zoom is also incredibly beautiful. The zero-distance sound of the sound board overlaps with it, making it look like a one-camera pro shot. When drawn with that quality, Byron's singing skill stands out. The front of TOTO is not good at it, but he is still good. The dark and soulful vocalization is deep and glossy. And because of the video, his presence shines. Although it can't be said that the appearance is like "Michael Jackson without choreography dance" is not typical of TOTO, it is very glamorous and dynamic. It is no wonder that it didn't last long, but his talent is definitely shining, and he has poured new charm into TOTO's beautiful melodies. Disc 1 is wonderful with a sense of realism and naturalness, and Disc 2 is super high quality sound with FM sound. Both are masterpieces that are on a different level from the average audience shot. A unique TOTO that you will never see again. A two-disc set that depicts the final show, which has a different flavor from the official video, in the finest quality.
