The outdoor concert "May 13, 1982: Nagoya Teiho Country Club" performance was a standout among TOTO's visits to Japan. This is the best live album that allows you to experience the scene that is still talked about today. Our shop has archived many classic live albums from the popular "TOTO VI" tour. However, this work is too special and completely different from the others. First, let's organize the collection by tour schedule.・May 7: Kurashiki City Gymnasium・May 8: Fukuoka Kyuden Memorial Gymnasium・May 10: Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium "MASTER SWORD"・May 11: Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium "OSAKA 1982 2ND NIGHT"・May 13: Kyoto Prefectural Gymnasium・May 15: Nagoya Teiho Country Club [This work]・May 17: Nippon Budokan "MASTER SWORD"・May 18: Nippon Budokan "DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1982"・May 19: Niigata City Gymnasium・May 21: Nippon Budokan "BUDOKAN 1982 FINAL NIGHT"A total of 10 performances. This alone is unique. Among the famous indoor venues, the only one that is out of place is the Nagoya performance, which is a golf course. This work was recorded at such a site, but the contents are even more strange than that. It's a world of chaos where the melodies of the best hit songs and the shouts of the audience intersect. The strange mood explodes from the start. The members appear and greet the audience with a cheerful "Good evening, Nagoya!", but the audience is filled with murderous aura as if it were another world. "I can't see," "Sit down, you idiot!", "I can't see at all," "Do something about the front," "Go ahead, behind us," and other dangerous words fly around. Was it because the partitioning at the venue was bad in the special environment of a golf course, or was TOTO's popularity spreading all at once and audiences who were not used to concerts flooding in...? Even before the show started, the dangerous mood was so intense that it would not be surprising if someone attacked them at any time. However, once the show started, the beautiful melody did not calm the audience's hearts... or not. The chaotic mood continued as usual, and shouts of "Please stand there for a moment," "Hey!", and "Let's do it!" were heard both between songs and during the performance, and the desperate voice of a staff member saying "Please stand back for a moment" could be heard. When it comes to such riotous concerts, the band will call for silence, but this work is not like that. TOTO seems to be unaware of the commotion, and they are playing their best performances, playing gorgeous hit songs one after another... this gap is incredibly surreal. Not only is it different from other performance albums on this tour, but it also creates a strange space in the history of foreign artists' visits to Japan. The mood calms down around "Georgy Porgy", when the show is approaching the middle. By this time, the audience's voices are filled with chanting and cheering, and the Japanese-like, perfectly synchronized clapping creates a peaceful sense of unity. The conversations between songs are also very peaceful, with people saying things like "That's so cool," and "That's amazing." When Japanese cheers such as "Ganbareyo!" fly, even laughter spreads. It's so ideal that you wonder what the commotion in the first half was all about. When that happens, you realize the amazing quality of this work. Both the performance and the singing voice are captured intensely and are very clear. Perhaps this is because the environment of the outdoor concert has turned out to be better. There is no echo that is common in indoor venues, and the performance sound that comes out of the PA comes in with its core exposed. There is no way to mistake it for a sound board because of the noise so far, but the clarity and directness are so wonderful that they even dismiss poor line recordings. Once this happens, it's a paradise of beautiful sound and hit parade. You can enjoy the luxurious show that you can enjoy at other live shows with superb sound. It's just strange and super high quality. You can experience both the dangerous mood where a brawl could break out at any time (actually it is happening?) and the beautiful and magnificent golden age TOTO show with superb sound. A miracle that combines the best of live albums and documentary albums. A great recording that is not just a "rare venue" or "golden age collection". By all means, by all means, at all costs.
