The Brian “Robo” Robertson era brought glory to THIN LIZZY. A special version of the iconic pro shot has been decided to be released. This work includes “March 29, 1978 Rainbow Theater Performance”. Yes, this is the official video “LIVE AND DANGEROUS” with the same title as that masterpiece live album. It is a masterpiece among masterpieces that symbolizes the Golden Age, and was made into an official DVD in 2007. It was widely loved by rock fans, but is currently out of print. It is now being traded at a premium price. This work is a copy of such official product. . . . Well, no. This is the Japan Broadcasting version that was featured on a certain satellite broadcasting station's famous program "Western Music Live Legend." At our store, we have archived a number of music programs with the best masters by domestic core recording enthusiasts, and this work is one of them. It's only natural that the original is an official work, so it's completely official, but it's a super-excellent version that has been made into a DVD without any deterioration. Also, speaking of the taste of Japanese broadcasting, the unique production of the program is firmly engraved in this work. At the beginning of the program, the half-Japanese narrator, known for his dandy speaking voice, explains the history of THIN LIZZY. The elegant mood arouses anticipation for the show. And the Japanese subtitles added to the narration of the loading scene at the beginning and the MC between songs. The official DVD also had subtitles, but these are unique to the program. You can also see it in a fresh way with a different way of speaking. Now that we have covered a number of points, let's get to the main topic. The best part of this video is THIN LIZZY's live performance in full swing. That's all. The album version “LIVE AND DANGEROUS” was produced from the 1977 show, but this work is a completely different 1978. This year was also a tumultuous year for them as well. Let's look back at the schedule at that time to remember the circumstances around that.・March 29th: London performance ←★This work★ ・May 15th-26th: Europe (5 performances) [“LIVE AND DANGEROUS (album)” released on June 2nd] ・June 13th-23rd : UK (8 performances) ・July 6: Ibiza performance [Robertson leaves / Downy temporarily leaves] 《July 30: Gary rejoins / Nowseef joins] ・August 8 - October 15: North America #1 (42 performances) "BACK ON THE STREETS" released on September 30th - October 20th-29th: Australia (5 performances) ← * Official video - December 17th: London performance (Downey's return) This is 1978 THIN LIZZY. The Rainbow Theater performance of this work was the first show. After that, Robo left the group after a few performances before and after the release of the album version of ``LIVE AND DANGEROUS.'' Moving on to the addition of our ally Gary Moore. There is also an official video after Gary joined, but it was on the “Australia” tour seven months later than this work. Well, it was a show just before Robo left, but the content was amazing as if the dissonance inside the band was a lie. The set is a more concentrated version of the album version "LIVE AND DANGEROUS". Let's sort it out here.・Nightlife: Still In Love With You/Sha La La ・Fighting!!: Rosalie ・Jailbreak: The Boys Are Back In Town/Emerald ・Heron Johnny: Massacre/Don't Believe A Word ・Notoriety: Dancing in the Moonlight (It's Caught Me in Its Spotlight)・Others: Are You Ready/Baby Drives Me Crazy/Me And The Boys (★) *Note: Songs marked with a “★” cannot be heard on the album version of “LIVE AND DANGEROUS.” ...and it looks like this. The highlight is "Me And The Boys", which cannot be heard on the album version, and it is amazingly rich, as if the essence of the Golden Age has been boiled down in about 50 minutes. And then play. How wonderful is this? Unlike the later footage, Phil Lynott is overflowing with tension and luster, and even when he screams with all his might, it has a delicious taste that tastes like black candy. The bass is also full of his unique dynamism, and the interaction with Brian Downey's expert drumming is a masterpiece. Of course, the signature twin guitars are made by two original artists, so the compatibility is impeccable. When it comes to Gary and John Sykes, Scott Gorham ends up being more of a support or harmonizing force, but with Robo, he's exactly the same. The alternating leads, the harmonies, and the breathy feel of the transitions are comparable to the golden era of WISHBONE ASH, the original twin band. I can say this because I know the subsequent history, but it was a great shame that Robo left. You can enjoy the ultimate twin aesthetic that even the master Gary Moore can't survive with a sight. This is a historical masterpiece video left at the last minute, just before the "Golden Four" collapsed. After that, they welcomed heroes, sometimes shining in an Irish style, sometimes in a metallic style, but the Golden Age finally delivered its final blow in 1978. A supreme piece that is even darker than the album version "LIVE AND DANGEROUS". This is the original Japanese broadcast version. Live at the Rainbow Theatre, London, UK 29th March 1978 (53:29) 1.
