The 1983 "AT LAST SAYONARA Tour" marked John Sykes' first visit to Japan and Phil Lynott's final visit. The iconic soundboard upgrade master is here. This work features the "May 23, 1983: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall" performance. This stereo soundboard recording is a must-have. At the time, THIN LIZZY toured the world on their farewell tour, announcing their disbandment. Among these, the Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall performance in this work was a particularly important concert. To explain the significance of this, let's first take a look at the schedule and outline their activities at the time. 1982 (September: John Sykes joins) 1983 ・January 26th - March 3rd: UK #1 (21 shows) ←※REGAL THEATRE 1983 (March 4th "THUNDER AND LIGHTNING" released) ・March 6th - April 10th: UK #2 (24 shows) ←※IRISH TOUR '83 etc. ・April 27th - May 4th: Europe #1 (6 shows) ・May 17th - 23rd: Japan (5 shows) ←★COCO★ (Once tour ended) ・August 28th - September 4th: Europe #2 (4 shows) ←※Official Reading etc. (THIN LIZZY Disbands》This is the journey from John Sykes' joining to the disbandment. At the time, some people may have felt that the disbandment was "prolonged and postponed", but that was "Europe #4", which actually added only four performances. The main part of the farewell tour ended in May 1983, and the final performance was here in Japan. Let's focus on the dates further. Details of "Japan" ・May 17th: Nakano Sun Plaza *May 19th "AT LAST SAYONARA TOUR (Shibuya)" ・May 20th: Nagoya Welfare Pension Hall ・May 21st: Osaka Expo Hall ・May 23rd: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall ←★This work★ A completely official master upgraded to a different class A total of five performances. The Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall in this work was the final day. In other words, it was originally the final performance of the disbandment tour itself. This show also symbolizes the realization of FM broadcasting. The air check has been widely popular. This work is the same FM broadcast sound board, but it is an upgraded version that is different from the previous ones. It is not a subtle processing such as mastering, but a top-notch updated version that was directly digitized from the air check master at the time. The sound is exactly "completely official class". This broadcast itself has been called official class for a long time, but this time it is on a different level. Not only is there no dubbing trace, but it is an upgrade that makes you think "is this really the same broadcast!?" The stereo feeling is particularly strong. It was stereo before, but this time it is wide and vivid, like a completely different class. This is the opening "Cold The intro to "Sweat" is so different it's almost laughable. While one guitar riff roars, the other cuts in with a grease, but the previous masters both lean to the right. In words, it felt like the two guitarists were in the "right-leaning center" and the "right side." However, this time, they start completely on the "right side" and chase from the "left side." Of course, this is just a momentary example; the harmonies throughout the entire album are completely different and super dynamic. Furthermore, the sound quality itself has been dramatically upgraded. While the previous release had a thin, broadcast-like feel, this new master is a completely official masterpiece-level sound. Rich, powerful, and vivid down to the finest details. Moreover, because it's not the vividness created by the remaster, even the powerful parts where everyone attacks remain fresh and natural. I can't believe this broadcast was of such high quality... Those who have listened to the previous versions will be shocked. Five bonus tracks complete with delicious single takes Although it is such a shocking upgrade master, the broadcast itself is the same despite the residual flame, so the length of 8 songs and about 43 minutes cannot be changed (well, it still feels the same as the official live album of 1 LP). Therefore, this work has added even more delicious bonus tracks. They are five different versions of the songs included in "THUNDER AND LIGHTNING". They are not half-finished demos or live performances, but single versions that were neatly finished in the studio. There is also "Cold Sweat (7" Version)", which was once thought to be the same as the album because it was uncredited, and "Thunder And Lightning (7" Edit)", which was simply abbreviated, but the most diverse and interesting ones are "The Sun Goes "Down" x 3 versions. Each version has a different mix, incorporates Sykes' acoustic guitar, and bold vocal processing, making it completely different from the album. Various unfinished demos were later unearthed, but this album contains the complete version, consisting of 5 takes. Japanese FM broadcasting is famous for its strictest master management, unparalleled anywhere in the world, and it is said that it is almost impossible for a master to leak before broadcast. Therefore, the ultimate form of Japanese broadcasting is almost entirely based on the recording methods, genera, and master preservation conditions of the time. This new master is determined by three points: "state" and "quality." This new master is the definitive edition that has updated the highest peak in all three points. It is a new master that has been reborn as a completely official master and a rare official single track that has been permanently preserved, and it is the "strongest and last live in Japan" that I wanted to leave as an official work. "May 23, 1983: Stereo soundboard recording of the performance at the Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall." With a new master that has been updated to the highest peak, the stereo feeling and freshness have been reborn as a "completely official grade" that is like a completely different class. "THUNDER Bonus features include five single versions of tracks from "And Lightning." This is the definitive official release, symbolizing John Sykes' first visit to Japan and Phil Lynott's final performance in Japan.
