Introducing a 2-CD set that combines the Dayton performance from the release of WHO'S NEXT in 1971 with two different sound sources! The 1st disc is a very rare and earliest vintage analog version, and the 2nd disc is a coupling recording of the same day tape source, and the Dayton performance in the United States in the summer of 1971 is recorded on 2CDs. There were multiple analog discs, including copy discs, and at the time it was one of the few standard items that recorded the 1971 US tour, but apparently the original analog disc was never reissued, so there were a lot of copy discs. With the reissue, I felt that the very existence of the original version was obscured, and the positioning of the sound source and item itself became unclear. And there was a feeling that its existence had been completely forgotten (?) In 1998, during the CD era, a label called Wholiday Music announced that it would be a "reprint from the original version!" and released the Dayton performance as an analog CD for the first time. was realized and attracted attention, but unfortunately, the recordings were not reprints from the original edition, and contained a common sound source that lacked clarity, and the original edition did not properly record the complete performance. Even Bargain, which was supposed to be on the album, faded out after about 3 minutes, and the item was far from the original version. After that, time passed without any particular correction of the content information, and in the 2000s, a tape source different from the original was distributed on torrent, and it was also made into an item. The tape source and the analog record source are different sources, but for some reason they have not been talked about properly until now. First, an explanation of the first CD. Here, it is recorded from the original LP "THE WHO - LIVE! / collector's item" (No Label, No Number, matrix number 92071-A, B), which is said to be the first recording of the 1971 Dayton performance. Regarding this disc, the sound quality is extremely clear, with a natural monaural sound that gives you a sense of depth, and it is difficult to compare it with the tape source recorded on Disc 2. In fact, this analog sound source is closer to the stage and clearer. It's an excellent sound source. This analog version contains only 6 songs, but Bargain, which faded out after just over 3 minutes on the existing CD Wholiday version, is included in the complete version of about 6 minutes on this original analog version. Of course, the point is that it also includes parts between songs that are not included in the tape source recorded on Disc 2. This analog version included Pinball Wizard as an intro cut-in, so we have included a restored version of the intro patched with a tape source as the seventh track as an extra track. It is a must-listen as there is surprisingly no sense of discomfort due to the connection, as the sound sources are originally difficult to compare. The second disc contains the latest remastered tape source, which is different from the analog version. It is a sound source that has been distributed on the Internet in recent years, and although it is monaural and has almost the same sound quality as the analog source, it has a longer recording time than the analog source, about 75 minutes until the middle of Magic Bus, and contains 14 songs in total. It has been made into CD once in the past. For this CD version, we have carefully edited and inserted two inter-song sections that are only included in the analog version source (inter-songs after the performances of Bargain and Behind Blue Eyes). Although this is a small difference, it has achieved the longest record ever. Furthermore, as with previous releases, tape distortion was seen at the beginning of Pinball Wizard's singing, so here we have applied transcendental pitch correction processing in micro units, so you can watch it without any discomfort. In the previously released version, there was some distortion and sound breakage, so this is also a small difference, but this title has an even more perfect finish.
