From the first performance in Japan in 1984, when "The Top" was released, two performances at Nakano Sun Plaza on October 16th and 17th were recorded completely from the audience master, which was A rank at the time. First of all, the second day's performance was made into an official video at the time, but of course the five songs that were not included on the video, M, Bird Mad Girl, Piggy In The Mirror, Happy The Man, and Forever, are included, and the video reproduces the correct song order and high quality sound, including the intervals between songs that were edited. Robert Smith came to Japan in 1983 as a guitarist for Siouxsie & the Banshees, but this was his first time as a Cure member, and the heavy and dark psychedelic sound that colors the whole performance is still overwhelming. In addition, the set is different on both days, and the opening starts with the opening song of "The Top" released in May of the same year, and the heavy, undulating beat and guitar sound are in full swing. The album also features a variety of sound approaches, with songs that make full use of keyboards, songs with an Arabian atmosphere, and flashy saxophone, making for an extreme performance that sounds like new wave and free jazz at the same time. The last song, "Forever," lasts for over nine minutes, ends with a freaky world where not only the saxophone but all kinds of instruments intertwine to create a vortex of sound. This is a perfect reproduction of the now legendary first performance in Japan, which condenses the charm of the Cure. Disc 1 : 1. Opening 2. Shake Dog Shake 3. Play For Today 4. Secrets 5.
