A TV recording was made on the day of the Tokyo performance in 1987, but this was from a live program that was broadcast late at night on weekends at the time, and the broadcast time was about 40 minutes, so it was far from a complete version. (Ron Wood and Bo Diddley's 1988 performance in Japan was also from the same program), but the stage of the 1987 Japan performance seen in this video is It's still wonderful. If you compare it with the 1983 stage that is this gift, the difference is obvious, but in addition to the composition with Levon as the only drummer and Rick focusing on the bass, Jim Weeder, who respects Robbie and plays sharply, is very obvious. (Although it was for a short time) You can see that they were regaining their band-like qualities. Considering the year 1983, when there were a lot of people on stage, the fact that Rick and Levon are in their original positions is extremely convincing. Furthermore, Jorma Kaukonen, who served as the opening act for Up on Cripple Creek, appears and can be seen playing lead guitar. And at the end of the video, the members are interviewed by a female announcer, which is typical of the bubbly era, and it can be said to be a rare video that even looks at it now and makes you laugh. Even so, with the release of this sound source, the video made me keenly aware that the program itself had been compiled with a bland selection of songs that hardly conveyed the appeal of this performance. This edition is a recommended one, as unlike the previously released editions, the audio is recorded in stereo, and the parts that were difficult to see due to tracking noise in the previous editions are recorded without any problems.
