Jaco, who had been on hiatus from live performances for most of 1985, made a comeback in 1986 and began live performances spanning from December 31st, New Year's Eve, 1985 to January 1st, New Year's Day, 1986. Jaco, Hiram, and Dinado performed together at New York's 7th Avenue South, run by the Brecker brothers, for the first time in a while since Joni Mitchell's "Shadows & Light" tour in the late 70's. Michael Brecker, an old friend of Jaco, is joined by Mitch Foreman for a special live performance under the name "The 7th Avenue South All Stars" recorded in the highest quality from the first generation master provided by the recorder.
