After disbanding the highly acclaimed progressive band "Odyssey", Rypidal released the unique album "After the Rain" in which he played not only guitar but also keyboards, synthesizers, saxophone, flute, percussion, etc. all by himself. He then teamed up with his new partner, the highly talented artist Palle Mikkelborg who plays trumpet, keyboards, and electronics, Sveinung Hovensjö on bass, and John Christensen (aka Mr. Perfect) on drums to create the pioneering sound-based sound band. This is the first time that two recordings have been released: a live performance in Oslo, Norway in January 1978 (recorded in 1977) prior to the release of the masterpiece "Waves" produced by the Rypidal Group, and a live performance at a jazz club in Oslo, Norway in July 1969 by the supreme quartet consisting of Garbarek, Rypidal, Andersen and Christensen, who were the strongest four musketeers in Scandinavia at the time, and even today, both recorded on a superb high-quality soundboard that has been carefully remastered by the label itself, running a total of over 70 minutes!
