A disc that reproduces Talking Heads' masterpiece "Remain in Light", released in 1980, directly from the Target CD, which has received high praise from collectors. This work is their 4th album, and was produced by Brian Eno following their previous work and the work before that, and was produced with guest musicians such as Adrian Belew and Jon Hassell, who are well-connected to Eno. I am. In the 1980s, many of the musicians of their generation who debuted from the punk/new wave scene aimed to fuse roots music and rock. Unlike the music scene of the 1960s and mid-70s, it turned its attention not only to American music but also to roots music from all over the world. We incorporate folk music from the Caribbean Islands, Central and South America, and the African continent. And I think Talking Heads completed Remain in Light by incorporating many elements of African music from their previous album. Songs from this album and their signature songs, Once in a Lifetime and Great Curve, were of course performed at their performance in Japan in February 1981. CDs released by WEA (Warner Electra Atlantic, now Warner Music) in the early to mid-1980s are called target CDs. Many of these CDs were made in West Germany or Japan before CDs were produced domestically in the United States, but some were made in the United States or France. The name "Target" comes from the fact that the design of this CD resembles the sight line of a gun. It is also easily recognized by the eye-catching color of the label. Compared to today's CDs, there is no noise cancellation, the sound quality is closer to the original, most of them are original sound sources rather than copies, and this is the history of the early compact discs. It seems to be a feature that it is valuable in terms of looking back on it. I feel that the current way of listening to music is centered around subscriptions, which tends to result in a uniform sound. Target CDs seem to be popular among audiophiles who feel uncomfortable with physical CDs that are remastered every time they are re-released. Of course, it does not have equalization or high sound pressure processing like current remasters, so it can be said to be an item suitable for playing through audio. This album is based on folk music, so this target CD may be more suitable for enjoying the vivid sounds of each instrument. Taken from German Target CD (Sire, 06095-2)(40:08) 1. Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On) 2. Crosseyed And Painless 3. The Great Curve 4. Once In A Lifetime 5. Houses In Motion 6 Seen And Not Seen 7. Listening Wind 8. The Overload
