Four professional shot live performances from the 1980 "Remain in Light" world tour, featuring Adrian Belew, Bernie Worrell, etc., are completely reproduced with the latest AI restoration. Each performance is recorded in a new 2024 edited version converted from the mono sound source at the time to a real stereo sound board. The extras include a documentary of the "South Bank Show" broadcast on British ITV in 1979, including a rare live performance from the early days. The second live video collection of Talking Heads, which is gaining re-evaluation across the ages, "THE HEATGOESON LIVE 1980-2 DVD Special Collection" is now available! The previous work "WHATALIVE 1982" was recorded from the 1982 tour leading to the movie "Stop Making Sense", but this time it is a compilation of professional shot live footage from the world tour held after the release of the masterpiece album "Remain in Light" in 1980. From this 1980 tour, the band changed from the simple four-piece band they had been since their 1977 debut to a big band with the addition of supporting musicians, and they performed passionately with the polyrhythms, African beats, and funk colors they had shown on the albums, which earned them worldwide acclaim. This dramatic transformation was later released as a live album. The most notable touring member during this period was Adrian Belew, a virtuoso guitarist who was well known for his work with Frank Zappa and David Bowie. After this 1980 tour, Belew joined the reformed King Crimson and became a key member, but his vocals and guitar playing were strongly influenced by Talking Heads of this period. Furthermore, with the participation of black musicians such as Bernie Worrell, an original member of Parliament and Funkadelic, bassist Busta Jones, percussionist Steve Scales, and vocalist Dread McDonald, Belew is said to have established an overwhelming "hard-driving urban funk." The Talking Heads' first appearance with this powerful lineup was on August 23, 1980 at the Heatwave Festival in Canada, where they thrilled an audience of 70,000, and their performance in New York's Central Park immediately afterwards also became a hot topic. After that, they toured Europe, and in the following year, 1981, they performed in Japan, completing a world tour with this lineup that excited the world. DVD 1 includes professional shot footage from the European tour, from the performance in Dortmund, Germany on December 20, 1980, and the performance in Rome, Italy on December 17, 1980, both recorded with local TV broadcasts. The songs recorded at each performance are different, and it is not to be missed that they perform many numbers from the album "Remain in Light". DVD 2 includes the performance in New Jersey on November 4 from the US tour, recorded with a professional shot video for monitoring. Unfortunately, it is a black and white video, but it is a valuable documentary video that completely records all the songs from the concert on that day. And four songs from the legendary Canadian Heatwave Festival are included, although they are incomplete. Both are completely reproduced in the best quality by the latest AI restoration work. The audio is also recorded in a new 2024 edited version that was converted from the mono sound source of the time to a real stereo sound board by the latest AI demix. In addition, as an extra, a documentary of the "South Bank Show" broadcast on British ITV in 1979, including a rare live performance from the early days, is also included. In 1980, Talking Heads traveled around the world with the now historic album "Remain in Light", and the definitive live video collection that you can't miss is the definitive edition! A legendary record! The definitive edition of Talking Heads' 1980 live video! A compilation of professional shots from the 1980 "Remain in Light" world tour! A must-see 2-DVD special collection that captures the band's transition period with the participation of Adrian Belew!
