Introducing a 4-disc set that compiles the treasured sound sources left behind by Syd Barrett! This is a great collection of 102 tracks from a variety of sources, including studio work during the recording period of his two solo albums, ``The Hat Laughs...Eerily'' and ``The Name is Bullet,'' radio appearances, rare live performances, remixes, and more. There is no doubt that this is the best compilation album to date as a collection of sound sources from Sid's solo period. Compiled and supervised by a world-renowned authority on Pink Floyd, it carefully selects the best existing sources for familiar takes. This is a decisive piece in both quality and quantity, backed by a deep and deep research spirit. Now, let's introduce each disc in detail. [Disc 1] ●THE JOHN PEEL 'TOP GEAR' SHOW (February 24, 1970) First, the five songs that appear on BBC's "TOP GEAR". This session is also included in the official version "THE PEEL SESSION", but in this work it is reprinted from the cassette released by Strange Fruit Records in 1989. ●Peter Jenner's EMI Reel (1967-1970) Next up are nine session songs recorded on the material reel "EMI Reference Reel 6604Z" by Peter Jenner, Floyd's manager in the early days. It was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, where ``The Hat Laughs...Eerily'' and ``The Name Is Bullet'' were produced, and this work uses the 1st Gen cassette. Peter is also the producer of the early sessions for ``The Hat Laughs...Eerily'', but this reel varies in recording time depending on the song, and also includes takes from different times than ``The Hat Laughs...Eerily''. Two songs from 1967, "Scream Thy Last Scream [Take 4]" and "Vegetable Man", "Silas Lang [Take 1]", which was recorded just before "The Hat Laughs...Eerily" (recorded on May 6th), and "The Name is... You can also listen to three tracks from the "Barrett" era: "Milky Way [Take 5]," "Untitled (Words) [Take 1]," and "Birdy Hop [Take 1]." ●Peter Jenner's EMI reel (1974) 12 more tracks from Peter Jenner's reel. This is also an August 1974 session (only "Silas Lang [Take 1]" was recorded in 1968), which was recorded at Abbey Road Studio, but much more time has passed than "The Name Is Barrett". After all, it is recorded in the best version by 1st Gen cassette. ●THE JOHN PEEL 'TOP GEAR' SHOW (February 24, 1970) The last of Disc 1 is John Peel's “TOP GEAR” again. It is the same February 24, 1970 session as the beginning, but this one contains only three songs and the sound source is directly from the BBC transcription disc. [Disc 2] ●Live in London on June 6, 1970 Four songs performed live at the “Extravaganza ’70 Music & Fashion Festival” during the production of “The Name Is Bullet”. This is the best version with accurate pitch. ●Malcolm Jones Sessions (1968-1969) Recorded on tapes owned by Malcolm Jones, president of Harvest and producer of ``The Hat Laughs...Eerily''. It was created from two 2nd Gen cassettes, "SOURCE #1" has 10 songs, "Silas Lang (Swan Lee) [Take 1]", and "SOURCE #2" has 11 songs, "Octopus [Take 11]" This is the version that includes "Swan Lee [Take 1]". ●Malcolm Jones Rough Mix (1967-1969) 5 takes of the rough mix made from the 1st Gen cassette. This is roughly the recording at the time of the production of ``The Hat Laughs...Eerily'', but like Disc 1, ``Scream Thy Last Scream [Take 4]'' and ``Vegetable Man'' are recorded even earlier in 1967. [Disc 3] ●BOB HARRIS 'SOUNDS OF THE SEVENTIES' (1971) Take from when he appeared on BBC's "SOUNDS OF THE SEVENTIES" on February 16, 1971. Although it has been made official with “THE RADIO ONE SESSIONS”, this work is the best version with a much better sound and accurate pitch. ●``OPEL'' Remix (1988) A remix version of the compilation album ``OPEL'' produced in 1988 with 17 takes. I am using the 2nd Gen master created from the Abbey Road Studios cassette. Two versions of "Wined and Dined [Take 1]," "Golden Hair [Remake Take 6]," and "Golden Hair [Take 1]" are included, and "OPEL" also includes unrecorded takes. ●BOB HARRIS 'SOUNDS OF THE SEVENTIES' (1971) Again, "Love Song" from "SOUNDS OF THE SEVENTIES" on February 16, 1971. It is recorded from a different source than the beginning. [Disc 4] ●``CRAZY DIAMOND'' Remix (1992) The last disc 4 is a complete remix from the production of the official box ``CRAZY DIAMOND'' released in 1993. I use the 1st Gen master created from Abbey Road Studios' cassette. Since it was a comprehensive box, the mixes of the recorded songs are different, but there are also different takes of "Maisie [Take 1]" and "Octopus" [Take 1] and [Take 2], respectively.
