Styx, who had numerous hits in the US from the '70s to the early '80s, present their rare, unreleased album "Son of the Edge," presented here in official quality soundboard recordings from master tapes leaked by a trusted source. Originally scheduled for release in 1992, the album was shelved by the record company, who deemed it unsellable due to the rise of the grunge movement led by Nirvana. This release features nine demo tracks originally intended for the album, recorded in master quality. This release finally allows fans to hear this legendary album, a elusive follow-up to the band's 1990 album, "Edge of the Century." At the time, Tommy Shaw was not with the band, and they were aiming to revive their activities with the addition of new guitarist Glenn Burtnik.
